That depends on a few things.

1. The growth rate of the tree.
2. The type of tree.
3. When you applied the wire.

For this tree because its a pine I would leave it on for a year or so. Trees like Ficus’s would usually be removed within weeks of wiring in the growing season as these trees have a fast growing rate.
