MALLORCA. Visiting friends and paintings!

waking up in Mallorca....sunrise.

Just got back from a quick trip to Mallorca to visit friends.
That is always exciting, but this time it was specially concentrated, as we, my partner and me, only had four days to get to see quite a few people.
Flying over from is like taking the bus. Tiny plane and takes between 15 and 20 minutes.
Once over there, we rented a car to be able to get around freely.
A few of the friends we visited have a few of my paintings and it was interesting to see them again after so many years in the context they have finally found.

Thing is, I´m quite bad at taking out the camera and taking pics of moments, so the first two homes we visited with my paintings in I forgot to photograph, but here is Miguel´s. He is a cycling team trainer, now retired. He used to let me and my partner stay in his anex house. We used to go and spend 3 months over there and I would paint for hours on end while my partner would be participating in chess tournaments. He is a chess player who needs to travel to play with equals as there aren´t many he can play against in Ibiza. This was back between 2002 and 2005.

Next home that also has a painting of mine was in Mancor, I also forgot to photograph the painting in it´s context, was too busy sipping wine and tasting cheese and talking about our lives, so much to catch up with.

An other home we visited, was my artist friend Lourdes Crespí. We met back in 2013 when she came to see my studio and wanted to buy a painting of mine. Since that day the friendship has just grown and grown. We are very different in the way we paint but I´m very inspired by her creativity and I think it is mutual. Last year she also bought a second painting Inteligencia Vertical. The first painting she has hanging in an other property we didn´t visit this time but here is the pic of the one in her living room.

I intend writing a post soon introducing a wonderful new creative project she is currently developing. I have tried to get her to post on Steemit and she might do so soon. We will see. Her web is www.lourdescrespi.com

During these days visiting friends we also stopped by Claudia and Miquel´s home. They are both teachers. Claudia is an art teacher is a high school and Miquel is a art historian. They live in the beautiful village of Sineu. Claudia used to live in Ibiza many years ago and over the year she has purchased many smaller pieces of mine.
It was funny that from one perspective I could see all four of them.

We also stayed over at Florencio Cruz´s home in Alaró. A really wonderful space, great studio. Florencio is an argentinian musician I know for the past twenty years. He used to live in Ibiza but since then has lived in many parts of the world. With both him and his lovely wife Natalija we stayed up talking for hours, exchanging ideas and fixing the world as we say in Spain.

There are other collectors I didn´t visit this time. Collector I haven´t got a close relationship with. These are the others that are in Mallorca.

We also went to visit our good friend and exceptional climber Cristian Lupion. It´s great to see him back in shape after last year´s heart surgery.
