Question 1.

Social media is a platform either on a website or in the form of application where users interact with one and another and also share their content. We have so many social media platforms which include facebook, twitter and instagram etc. Every user has their aim on why they are on any of these platforms. People join for business purposes and others for fun. We have two types of system used by Social Media Platforms, which are:

• Centralized Social Media
• Decentralized Social Media

CENTRALIZED SOCIAL MEDIA
This system of social media has all data of its users on a single central server. In this modern day of social media, most of the platforms use the centralized system. Example of them are Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, Twitter etc.

All activities on these platforms can be monitored and sanctioned through the central server. Users account me get suspended, muted or blocked by the central authority.

Users on these platforms can be monitored and checked through the central server hence the system does not protect users privacy. Users also have no security as well because any individual can get access to this server and manipulate or change data without the will of the user.

DECENTRALIZED SYSTEM
Decentralized social network is a social site that runs on different servers independently. It provides freedom to users to go about their business on the platform. Users work on their own rules without the fear of being suspended or blocked.

This system is not controlled by one person hence no individual or group of people can manipulate or change data from the system. The user is handed the keys to the account during the time of creation. This tells us there is 100 percent security with the decentralized system.

Also, decentralized system used by these social media platforms has consider the privacy of its user, this is because there is no single individual who has the power to monitor activities of the users.

DIFFERENCE OF CENTRALIZED AND DECENTRALIZED SYSTEM

Centralized	Decentralized
This system involves a third party. This system needs a third person to be able to work	Does not involve a third party. User does not need a third person to be aable to go about their activity.
Full control with authority Third parties have control over users account and information	full control with the user. Users have full control of their account. Users have all their keys.
Easy to be hacked. Since it have only one server, it makes it easier for hackers.	difficult to be hacked because it has multiple servers which makes it almost impossible to behacked
system easily fails. There is no backup when the single server breaks down	Systems difficult to fail. this system has multiple servers and it needs all to fail for it to breakdown.
No anonymity. Private information is needed in this system	offers anonymity. No private information is needed.

Question 2.

Decentralized system used by social media platforms is already becoming the peoples favorite. People don't like to be monitored, people don't like to be censored, people need security as it boost the confident of users. Decentralized system have all these in check giving the users freedom to operate on their own terms.

With the decentralized system there is an opportunity to earn some cash while doing what you love to do. Such example of social media platform are Steemit and hive. Users are paid through tokens and now there is high growing interest of cryptocurrency.

Question 3.

• Steemit is a decentralized social media platform while twitter is a centralized social media platform. Steemit users have full control of their accounts while Twitter is been controlled by a central body.

• Steemit protect the privacy of its users while twitter can access and manipulate information of its users.

• Steemit gives its users the confident to go about their business on their own terms whithout being censored or blocked while twitter do censor, suspend and sometimes block its users activities.

• Seemit pays its users with token such as steem back dollar and tron while on twitter users earn nothing.

Question 4.

Through this COVID-19 Pandemic we are all going through where people lost their jobs and have to be quarantined at home without food. Steemit has helped these people to put food on their table and their families.

Personally i am a university student, and ever since i joined steemit i stopped asking for pocket money because steemit provides for me through my posting. This same steemit i am saving to pay my fees by myself without having to ask my parents for it. I am not the only person, millions of people it has helped the same way.

Steemit has also developed and shaped the writing skill of many users of which i am one. As users make post and earn, their writing and communication skills gets better and better each day.

Question 5.

• New commers into steemit can earn money when they post their achievement task. This task is to help them to learn how steemit works so they can do what is right.

• Users can make money through steemit when they participate in contests. These contest are created for users to participate. Creators of these contest select its winners base on content quality and other factors. These selected winners gets curated or sent some steem as their reward.

• Users can also participate in Steemit Crypto Academy. This community consist of professors who gives lecture notes and assignment for users to read to understand and then answers the questions to the assignment. After submitting professors grade and you get curated accordingly.

• On the hompage click on all post to view the drop down list.
  

• Scroll down to explore communities
  

• click on create community
  

• Input your tittle and what the community is about. Click on next
  

• Copy and save your password in a safe place and then mark the box for acceptance. Click on create community.
  

• Accept to use 3 steem to create your community by clicking on ok
  

• click on get started to start working on your newly created community.
  

• Now your community is ready to post.
  

CONCLUSION
Looking at what both the centralized and decentralized social media provide, decentralized social media provide more beneficiary factor more than the centralized system. The future with it is more exciting and will make life more easy and confortable with its users.
