HOW THE PHOENICIANS EXERTED A WIDE INFLUENCE DESPITE THEIR SMALL KINGDOM?

Purple was the color of royalty because it was expensive

Phoenicians only had a tiny country, but they became famous traders bringing goods from east to west.

They built big sail boats and sailed to the Mediterranean lands that’s why they became great traders and they mariners. 

Unlike Hittites, Phoenicians were not warlike and they are not interested in conquering others. 

PHOENICIAN CONTRIBUTIONS TO CIVILIZATION

      -One day, a Greek saw a Phoenician trader witting with a cuneiform stylus on clay tablets. The Greek adopted the Phoenician alphabet but later added written vowel sounds.

      -Greek alphabet became the most popular language in the world until the time of Jesus.

They established trading colonies

The phoenicians introduced the exotic products of the east (Mesopotamia, Egypt, Palestine, Persia, China and India) to the west
