Climate Change leads to poverty, is it true ?
Climate Change is a serious threat to mankind. Global climate change will lead to poverty in coming days, if the trend goes on same as going today.

Emission of green house gases is a threat multiplier, posing serious threats in this century. Melting of glaciers over few decades increase the sea level and it is said that if melting continues, many coastal areas will be under coastal flooding. Coastal flooding due to sea level rise cause destruction of coastal lands, make coastal lands salty and unfertile. Moreover, it will damage weak construction near coastal areas and thus people residing there move from coastal areas to other areas for livelihood. It will take away many resources along with lands which have been facing many problems in this century.
If lands become unfertile, how can we feed the population increasing at alarming rate ? Annually over five million Indian people are effected by coastal flooding. Future measurements suggest that over 36 million People will be effected my coastal flooding.
Bangladesh instead of five million, 42 million will be threatened.
By 2050, in a scenario that limits warming to 2°C above average pre-industrial
temperatures, about 150 million people worldwide will be permanently below the high
tide line along the coast and, by 2100, the numbers will rise to 360 million people.
Most of the people found to be at risk from coastal events live in Asia — residing in
countries like China, Bangladesh, India, Vietnam, Indonesia, Thailand, the Philippines
and Japan.
Coastal cities, such as Alexandria, Ho Chi Minh City, Basra and Shanghai are among the
most vulnerable and large portions of Mumbai and Kolkata will be fully submerged by 2050.
So we need to tackle it with implementing strict policies. Educating rural and poor people about the issue can also solve the problem. As the Us president has denied and passed negative comments on the issue of climate change, but I think he should reconsider the issue and take necessary steps in coming days.
The top three greenhouse gas emitters— China, the European Union and the United States—contribute more than half of total global emissions. So we need all these countries take leading role to tackle climate change.
Thanks for stopping by. I hope you like it.
