The dev team is obviously working on steemit behind the scenes. And I'm giving Busy.org a spin.
A bit over 3 weeks ago I wrote about how steemit.com allowed us to control the reward type not just for our posts, but also for our comments. A bit more control is not a bad thing and I think the ability to decline your payout for a comment had some rare utility.
The bad part of that was that there was also an Upvote post checkbox when you were commenting which would only encourage people to self-vote their often worthless comments only exasterbating a behavior that many view as problem.
I haven't really kept tabs on when or how this was changed, but I did notice it is gone now. Since it removed the self-vote checkbox, I'm happy to see that happen. My suspicion is still that this functionality was added by mistake by a developer calling the wrong voting function or something similar. The reward type control was not a bad thing, but the checkbox was and I'd rather have them both gone than have them stay.
Of course, this is not something huge, but what it indicates is that the team behind steemit.com is hard at work and is quietly working on improving the experience on their website.
Still, if I have to be totally honest, steemit.com is still a pretty ugly website and I'm still not a fan of the cyan color accents. It's clean and functional enough, but it can stand to get a lot of improvements for it to be perfect.
The most ironic part of this post of mine about steemit is that I'm actually using busy.org to write and post it. I've decided I want to check out more of the interfaces that can be used to interact with the steem blockchain and busy.org is not a bad option. It does work well and I like the aesthetic, but busy.org is not perfect either. It looks nice, but I wouldn't say it's really sleek yet with a lot of the fonts too large for my liking.
Of course, the most important thing is that the price of steem is going up and so is the price of SBDs. The interfaces to interact with the blockchain are only going to get better and the community seems to be growing a lot stronger.
The future is bright, right? :D
Right!
