Pulisic Has Proven Me Wrong

1 Month ago, I wrote an article about how Christian Pulisic was looking like he may turn into a flop at Chelsea. While he appears to be injured so won't be able to redeem the outing he had against Canada before that article was written, he has been impeccable for Chelsea since. I titled that article Lampard is Right: Pulisic isn't good enough. Well one thing stayed true. Lampard being right. He's been instrumental in every game
He came on against Ajax to record the assist on the game deciding goal in Amsterdam. Then of course got the hat trick against Burnley. But he didn't stop there. He then scored in the next two league games against Watford and Crystal Palace as well. It's possible when all this is said and done, that he really had just not adjusted to Lampard's system yet, but once he did, he is truly starting to fit in there. I still don't necessarily think he is the finished product. But he absolutely deserves some appreciation after gaining so many naysayers (Myself Included).
It'll be very interesting to see how he develops over the course of the season and whether he will be right there with Mount and Abraham as far as his importance going forward. One thing is for certain. Chelsea look way better than many would have thought possible going into the season and while it seemed like they would have to battle to finish top 4, they instead may just cruise into the top 4. Where I look forward to seeing how they develop will now be in the Champions League.
All these young guns on Chelsea will probably have their ups and downs like young players should. I no longer would be surprised if Pulisic can build his numbers up and maybe even get closer to 15 goals when the season is all over. The 5 he has gotten in the last 3 put him right up there among midfielders in 4th only behind Mane, Sterling, and Salah. Not bad. I also wouldn't be surprised if he is rotated every so often to give time to Hudson-Odoi and gets closer to 10. Suddenly there are an embarrassment of riches for Chelsea to choose from. One thing is for sure. If you're a fantasy player, 7.4 may be a steal now.
