Ride to Tifft Nature Preserve
I took a ride to Tifft Nature Preserve this afternoon. It is located within the city limits surrounded by brownfields and some still standing factories and grain silos. While it has some beautiful scenery, you can still hear traffic from the highway and see parts of the city in the distance.
I saw a number of deer, including a newborn. I am not certain where the mother was. I informed the office that there was a baby deer that may have been lost.
There was a family of ducks blocking the path. I ended up turning around and walking back a different route to avoid disturbing them.
It was hard to just choose a few photos. The wildlife was nothing unusual except that it is spring so there were lots of babies.
The rest of these photos are actually from my ride down to the nature preserve but I figured I'd put the animal photos first.
The red ship is the Edward M Cotter , the world's oldest active fireboat.

it seems to be a fun afternoon trip, getting to know nature more closely with the animals and getting healthy by exercising bikes, all interesting stories
Thanks! It was a good day. It only lightly rained at times, which felt good on a hot day. I was surprised to get so many animals' photos. For awhile it seemed like I wouldn't find any, then they started poking their heads out everywhere!
