'Finding My Way In Uluru' - The Outback, Australia!

in #travel8 years ago (edited)

Have you ever been to Uluru in Australia?

I went in February, during Australia's summer, when it was almost 40 degree heat.

It was an amazing trip. Walking around the ancient and sacred rock sites, learning about the Aboriginal culture and beliefs, and also coming across huge, wild kangaroos in the area.

If you rent a car, you can also spend a day driving to Ayers Rock. We didn't do that on this trip, and used our time to enjoy the sites here more.

It's hot!

The heat is intense, and at this time of year, the fly's are everywhere! I had to walk around most of the time with my t-shirt wrapped around my face and head to act as protection from the sun and to stop the fly's from going in my mouth, up my nose and in my ears.

Sunrise and sunset is a must!

Seeing Uluru at sunset and sunrise was also an incredible experience. I think I will make a blog post on my Uluru trip soon.

This is a photo of me, trying to work out where we need to go next. I featured this photo in my previous post here on 'My 2017'
