A No-Till, Permaculture Inspired Garden
A simple principle to follow, healthy soil contributes to healthy plants, healthy plants contribute to healthy people.
To ensure the soil is healthy I take several steps, in the next three posts we will look at one, the no-till, no-dig garden. Why no-till? The soil is home to many beings, earthworms for example, however, there are millions of other much, much smaller beings who keep the soil alive.
Look at it this way. image a transport ruck smashing into your home. Well digging up the soil has a comparable impact on the soil which is these beings home.
Garden sited,
Step 1: Decide where the garden will go and mark it out.
Step Two: water the bed.
Step Three: lay down cardboard to cover the space, yes cardboard, make sure it overlaps so no grass is showing and none can grow through.
