Barcelona Finally Lose

Barcelona - Barcelona is no longer an unbeaten team this season. Their tough pace since the beginning of the season finally stalled in the hands of city rivals, Espanyol.

Barcelona appear so tough since the beginning of the season. After losing 0-2 to Real Madrid at the Santiago Bernabeu in the second leg of the Spanish Super Cup, the Blaugrana stretched an unbeaten run through half the season.

Ernesto Valverde's squad was unconquered in 29 consecutive games since the defeat in Madrid. They picked up 23 wins and just six equal.

But there is always a first for everything. Barcelona finally swallowed their first defeat of the season when they travel to RCDE Stadium on Thursday (18/1/2018) pm dawn, in the first leg match quarterfinal Copa del Rey.

Appear dominant, Barcelona difficulty creating clean threats for the host. Espanyol actually managed to maximize the scandal of Barcelona to score through Oscar Melendo in the 88th minute.

Interestingly, this is Espanyol's first win over Barcelona in all events since last February 2009, aka nearly eight years ago. These results may be very special for them, as the first derby victory after so long stops Barcelona's unbeaten run.
