SKYNET – Creating the First Blockchain System on Chip
Introduction
Skynet is a blockchain based project which is providing an end-to-end protocol combining a neural processing blockchain core and a Byzantine Fault Tolerant infinity chain infrastructure to create the new blockchain ecosystem. They are introducing a network which tracks the amount of tokens on each blockchain. They are also connecting several independent application sidechains with the pool of networks where those networks can handle all chaotic IoT subsystems by providing support to interoperable decentralized network.
Skynet is basically addressing the problems of blockchain adoption and IoT functionality by providing an end-to-end system. They are doing this with the World’s first blockchain chip which will be installed to devices globally and connected by Skynet’s Blockchain Network.
Problem
The problem arises with blockchain networks for IoT where the network architectures cannot handle billions of transactions which IoT devices doing every day. Older network architectures like Bitcoin or Ethereum are based on Proof-of-Work principle where transaction rate is low, cost is high and try to fit in many applications which leads them to failure. So, from this the traditional blockchains and even newer versions are not suitable for IoT devices. For example, smaller IoT devices like sensors and wearables are getting difficulties in Proof-of-Work Mining, Data Storage, Connectivity etc.
Solution
The solution where Skynet Open Network (SON) is come up with to connect IoT devices and provide infrastructure for an intelligent planet. They have addressed many solutions such as Network, Application and Hardware solution to achieve their goals.
On providing anarchic scalability where chaotic nature of IoT network will be handled without any failure risk in more privacy and reliability manner. This is user-friendly blockchain and IoT networks which is created easily with any programming language with minimum validator nodes.
SON is designed to connect all devices to be able to find one another, self-organize, lend computational power and exchange information with one another instantly. Providing blockchain versatile network where SON will connect with all blockchains to enable devices to choose the network that they want.
At last, Skynet designed to enable devices to utilize the blockchain and have human-like functionality. They have connected NPU (Neural Processing Unit) to accelerate AI learning and model execution speeds.

Alexander Shi – CEO & Founder – He graduated from University of California, Berkeley. Also, a Founder of OpenSingularity. He’s having expertise in AI, Machine Learning, Robotics etc and previously worked with Inter and Amazon.
Dr. Jae Jung – CTO & Co-Founder – He did Ph.D. from University of California, San Diego. He’s a Vice President of such a reputed company named Samsung. He’s having expertise with working experience in UCSD Researcher for Samsung. He also founded NeoPace company.
Tami Zhu – COO & CO-Founder – She did MBA from MIT, Sloan. She’s a Head of Alibaba Group US and AOL Ventures. She’s having expertise in Finance, Investments etc and she raised 150 million for Rokid AI Startup.

Verdict
The Social Media hype is low, and they are not much active on their Telegram group.
The Website and Whitepaper both explained in more technical term which is hard to understand about the project.
There are 20 core members in an executive team who are having expertise in AI, Machine Learning, Robotics, Researching, IT, Software, and Cyber Security. But, they are lacking in Blockchain experience. Some of them are having working experience with such companies – Samsung, Alibaba, Amazon, Intel, Qualcomm, PayPal, and Google. They have no advisors on board.
The Roadmap is not available on their Website and Whitepaper both. Currently, MVP is also not available.
They have partnered with such reputed companies – IBM, Shopify, Western Digital, Fujitsu, Amazon, Crunch Base, Microsoft and Oracle.
