Different Front Ends For The Steem Blockchains
Do you remember a time when you had only two or three choices on what front end to use for Steem? Back when I started about 21 months ago, there was only steemit, and a primitive version of esteem and a primitive version of Dtube. Now we have Busy.org, Utopian.io, Steepshot, Zappl, Memeit.lol, Dtube, Dlive, Dsound, Esteem, and Parley.
I know that I didn't get the whole list at all, more are being developed as we speak(I'm working on my own) but isn't this amazing. We went from one good front end and two decent ones to having well over 10 amazing front ends, each for something specific. Niche groups can meet and won't have to bother with things that won't interest them. Like memes, check out memeit.lol or dmania.lol. Fan of videos? Dlive or Dtube might be for you. Want Instagram on the steem blockchain? Steepshot has got the answer for you. What I'm trying to get at is that the blockchain Steem runs on allows for anyone to create anything. So many of these are new, I've even helped in the development of one(though a very small amount). If you want something to run on the steem blockchain, you can do it, a little bit of learning and you can create something great.
I'm going to give a short description of each of the front ends that I mentioned, and maybe you can find one that suits you better than Steemit.
Busy.org is very similar to steemit in many ways. All post made on the blockchain show up on Busy, but busy has a much cleaner look to it, as well as many cool features that aren't available in Steemit. You can find what front end the post was made from, be able to use custom upvote percentages no matter what your SP is at, and save multiple drafts.
Utopian is a place for open source contributors to get rewarded for their work. They can make posts about what they do and if Utopian accepts it, the post gets upvoted by utopian and gets shown on the site. You can also request users to help you out on your open source project there. I've both helped an open source project and requested help on mine, definitely worth a try. Only posts made from utopian appear on utopian.
Steepshot is steem's version of instagram, except you get paid for it. Photo sharing is their main feature. They do have iOS and android apps as well as a website. Only posts made from steepshot appear on steepshot.
Zappl is the answer to everyone who wants to microblog on the blockchain. Your posts are limited to 240 characters, so make them as good as you can, but you can add an image to your post. Since a picture is worth 1,000 words, you can think that you can write 1,240 word. Only posts made from zappl appear on zappl.
Memeit.lol
Curated memes appear on memeit.lol. Posts on memeit.lol have to be approved by moderators before appearing on the site. Only posts made on memeit.lol only show up on memeit.lol(thanks to me).
Dtube
Using IPFS technology, dtube is a decentralized version of youtube. You can watch videos on dtube. Only posts made on dtube will appear on dtube.
Dlive
Who would have thought that live streaming would be on the Steem blockchain? Not me for sure. But people amaze us and have made it possible. Only posts made from dlive appear on dlive.
Dsound
Dsound also uses IPFS technology to host audio. Lots of users have posted some awesome music that they've made up on dsound. Only posts made from dsound appear on dsound.
Esteem
Esteem is the mobile steem app. I've used it on my phone and its awesome. Its much better than using steemit.com. All posts on the steem blockchain appear on esteem.
Parley
Finally Parley, one that I haven't used. Its supposed to be like reddit, where you can share links. I'm not very experienced with them but will be giving them a try soon. I'm pretty sure that they too only show posts made form their site.
Hello @rishi556 , I was designed to give advice to "steemit" users.
I recommend to increase this;
