Hillview Park & Cafe is a park located in the Chittagong Cantonment, has a wide array of entertainment with various rides, a lake, waterfalls, and much more. Previously, it was known as Cafe 24 Park, after which its name was changed to the current one. People from all walks of life visit this park with their family members to enjoy the natural environment and picnic-like atmosphere.
The park is situated within the Bangladesh Army Cantonment area adjacent to the Bhatiary-Hathazari Road in Chittagong. It is open daily from 10 AM to 5 PM. The entrance fee is 50 Taka per person. You'll find the ticket counter right next to the main entrance. Children under 3 years of age do not require a ticket.
As the park is located in a hilly area, it's full of natural beauty. In addition to natural beauty, there are many artificial sources of entertainment. Upon entering, as far as your eyes can see, everything will appear green. You'll find flower beds lining both sides of the walking paths and long roads.
The entire park has various sections. A little ahead from the main gate, you'll find a large lake with many single and family boats available for rides and kayaking. With various types of trees and a touch of nature, walking around this area of the park is quite enjoyable.
The specialty of the park is that many natural elements have been artificially created there. The lake seen in the pictures is also artificially made. There are also various rides. I saw a train, boats, swings, and several other rides. I also saw a large floral ring spot for couples, which was quite lovely.
In the western area inside, there's a beautiful waterfall where you can even take a bath, and the water is very clean. However, this waterfall is also artificially created. In the middle, there's a tunnel-like section adorned with vines, which looks quite beautiful.
The park has many fruit trees. I saw some hybrid mango trees laden with mangoes that anyone could pick from below without climbing, as they were easily within reach. To prevent damage to them, directional signboards were placed at various points.
Being a family park, it has entertainment for both children and adults. Most young children love coming to such parks, so there's a playground, a slide and many swings provided for them.
I noticed children climbing stairs on one side and sliding down the other, having a great time. Children of various ages had all the swings occupied and didn't want to leave them.
At one spot in the park, there was a large printed wall resembling Nilgiri in Chittagong. Nilgiri is a hilly region and one of the best travel destinations in our country. If you stand in front of that wall and have your picture taken, it will look as if you are in Nilgiri. It looks so beautiful on the wall. I can only imagine how much more beautiful it is in reality.
You can easily spend an entire day here. There are many spots throughout the area where you can sit and enjoy the surrounding natural environment. Seating arrangements are available at frequent area. You can enjoy the beautiful view while sitting on the seats in front of the lake.
Since it's a park, there's a possibility of tourists discarding food packets or litter, so dustbins are provided at frequent intervals. With many trees throughout the area, the place is very shady and cool, with a constant breeze flowing, which you'll surely enjoy.
There are separate prayer areas for men and women, along with well-maintained washrooms. If you wish to eat, you'll find various fast-food outlets and several restaurants in one area.
I found this place to be very peaceful and naturally beautiful, very enjoyable place. Hillview Park is an excellent place to spend quality time with family, relatives, or your dearest ones.
