Summer is here

A hot sunny day, too lazy to stand.
I hide from this scorching heat.

Sprawled on the desk, I looked outside.
"So it is here...." Is what I thought.

Bored, I listened to nature's music.
The chirp of the cicada's as the melody.

I dream of the ocean with its azure waters.
Sparkling in the Sun's glory.

The clear, blue sky with its cloudless day.
It's hot winds making waves.

All of it tells me. All signs point to it.
It has arrived, summer is here...

The test of courage, I do with friends.
Laughters, silly banters. We would do it all.

The fun I could have, if not for this heat.
It's too much. Melting my will, my energy.

Lazing around is all I want to do.
But my friends won't allow it so...

Arriving uninvited, they carried me out.
Forcing me awake of my stupor.

Without permission, against my will.
Away from home. Towards the blazing sun.

All because summer is here...
