Kabupaten Pidie di anugrahi Alam yang indah, pengunungan sungai dan laut. Salah satu yang paling indah yang kami lihat adalah air terjun Geunie. Air terjun yang dinamakan Alue Putek ini menjadi daya pikat masyarakat Pidie sejak jaman dinosaurus. Tapi hanya untuk penduduk lokal yang tahu-tahu saja.

Barulah satahun lalu Tgk Zian Mustaqim memberitahukan saya tentang adanya air terjun ini. Lalu saya mengajak Akbar Rasfanjani untuk memvideokan, lalu di Videokan lagi oleh Ricsnt, lalu saya ajak pemuda asset Pidie Putra Hidayatullah seminggu yang lalu.

Air terjun ini paling dekat dari kota Sigli, kita hanya perlu menempuh jarak 35 Km dari kota, ke Arah Keumala, lalu lewat lagi ke Geunie, kemudian kita akan melewati jembatan gantung, lalu ke pemukiman warga, lalu naik ke bukit sedikit, di ujung jalan kita akan menyebrangi sungai dua kali, dan di ujung jalan, belok ke kiri sedikit, disitulah air terjunnya.

Sementara ini jalan hanya aman dilalui oleh kendaraan roda dua. Karena kalau roda empat harus menyebrangi sungai, itu pun di musim kering, kalau musim hujan dijamin mobil anda akan kembali ke Beurenuen lagi karena dibawa arus sungai. Untuk melintasi jalan diperbukitan perlu tenaga ekstra, karena jalannya berlumpur dan sesekali menyebrang sungai.

Air terjun yang tingginya tujuh meter ini terletak di samping sungai. Bukan seperti biasa air terjun yang menyatu dengan sungai tapi ini aliran air lain yang bermuara ke sungai. Sungai yang jernih ini sangat dingin dikala hujan, dan juga masih dingin di musim panas.

Wilayah Alue Putek ini juga terkenal dengan duriannya. Disaat sedang musim, para pedagang durian akan juga naik jembatan gantung demi mendapatkan harga durian yang lebih murah ke pemukiman warga di sini. Memang warga sekitar biasanya perorang ada kebun durian masing-masing karena itulah pekerjaan mereka sehari-hari, berkebun. Sesekali kalau ada selisih paham, mereka berkelahi, itu kenapa saya tuliskan.

Jalan yang tenang disambut oleh bunyi burung-burung akan menyertai perjalanan kita ke air terjun, aroma pergunungan dan masyarakat yang ramah menambah semangat kita jika berlibur ke air terjun yang indah ini.

Pidie Regency, Northwest Aceh in bless with Beautiful nature, river, sea, and mountains. One of the most beautiful we could see was Geunie waterfall. Waterfall called Alue Putek has become the allure of Pidie society since the days of dinosaurs. But only for the local people who know it.

This waterfall is closest to Sigli town, we only need to travel 35 Km from town, to Keumala direction, then pass again to Geunie, then we will pass the suspension bridge, then to the settlement, then up to the hill a bit, at the end of the road we will cross the river twice, and at the end of the road, turn left a bit, that's where the waterfall.

While this road is only safe pass by two-wheeled vehicles. Because if the four wheels have to cross the river, it was in the dry season, if the rainy season is guaranteed your car will return to the Beurenuen again due to the flow of the river. To cross the road in the hills need extra energy, because the road is muddy and occasionally cross the river.
The seven meter waterfall is located beside the river. Not like the usual waterfalls that blend with the river but this other water flow that empties into the river.

The clear river is very cold in the rain, and also still cold in the summer.
Alue Putek region is also famous for its durian fruit. While in its season, durian traders will also ride here to get a cheaper durian price to residential residents here. Indeed, the surrounding people usually have their respective durian gardens because that is their daily work, gardening. Every now and then if there is a difference, they fight, that's why I write.

The quiet roads greeted by the sound of birds will accompany our journey to the waterfalls, the aromas of the mountains and the friendly community adds to our spirits when on vacation to this beautiful waterfall.
