Located 20 km south of the center of the capital of Cuba, Lenin Park (Parque Lenin) is very well known by Havanans, and it is not surprising because its 670 hectares make it the largest recreational center in the city.

In addition to its great variety of trees, such as pine, cedar, palm trees, ficus, to mention a few, there is an amusement park, restaurants, a freshwater aquarium, swimming pools, an amphitheater, and the emblematic 19th century steam train to explore the different areas that almost all children and adults under 60 know very well.

Due to the precarious economic situation of the country, many of the establishments are closed or in a state of decline.

This is a place I visit frequently to take photos of nature and for a time I wondered why I didn't see anymore the Lenin Park's Little Train (El Trencito del Parque Lenin), as it was affectionately called.

It happens that in one of my walks in the area I stumbled upon its whereabouts. It made me nostalgic of my childhood and sad to see the end of the little train.

A bit of a sad story. But life goes on :)

I think almost every ruin or derelict place had glorious days, the decadence reminds me that humans have a similar destiny.

I agree ... :)
