My Car Accident (SWC)

Hello Everybody I´m going to tell my story of how almost died in a car accident for the Supernatural Writing Contest (SWC) of @jerrybanfield so let´s do it:

It was a Saturday morning my family and I were going to see my grandfather for his birthday to give him a surprise visit and well he live in another city so we begin to prepare things at 6 am for the long journey ahead of the day.

Restlessness and at odd feeling were present for as long as we prepare all the baggage and food for the journey, I started to feel the odd feeling rising every second while the beginning of the trip was getting closer and I was not the only one feeling that way. My mom and my big brother were in some kind of edge to put it that way about all the idea of the journey in a point we even begin to considered not to go and stay in the house all day but after minutes of discussion we decided to put our mind at ease and end all the preparations to get in the car and start the trip.

My feeling of uneasy did not diminish, I was in the back seat lying down and wrapped up in a blanket seeing the roof of the car and then 10 minutes after that I saw an image out in the window but I feel amazed that the image went in a static way rapidly caught more my attention, the image it was like a photo of an old lady with white hair, a robust texture and a cloth that look very old something that your grandfathers will use. after that moment the car start to lose control, my mom grab the wheel to try to control the car but it was in vain, the car suddenly went completely to the left and it hit the railroads tearing down like a piece of paper because of that the car pull of the ground start to spin in the air very fast then it hit the ground and bounce in the air again, I suddenly hit my head against the back of the driver seat and everything turns black, it not was like a pitch darkness like what happen when you are unconscious it was more like having your eyes shut, I continue to feel my body and just that I was not able to feel the dizziness or the movement of the car in any moment also I could not hear the scream of my family inside of the car spinning out of control nothing just my body like some kind of ultra-awareness of myself and that´s it.

When I begin to feel the environment around me again I realized that I was lying down in the middle of the highway seeing the wrecked car upside down several meters away from me like 15 or 20 to be more precise. Then I began to see how my mom struggle to get out of the car screaming to the top of her lung that I was dead, I tried to scream at her telling her that I was alive but I couldn´t now I was unable to move my body or even talk, then I see a car coming my way pretty fast so as not to run over me it takes a close turn and crash into the railroads, then the driver of the car get out of his car preoccupied about me run where I am and then he start to check me up to see it I was alive or not and I don´t know way he move my body to my side, and I hear him screaming: “He is breathing again” and all I could think was: “Fuck I wasn´t breathing?, I was dead what a minute ago?” after all that commotion with the guy and his car and me being dead I see my mom was in the edge of the highway screaming and crying that she wanted to die and my brother sit down next to her telling her that I was alright, that everything was alright at the same time he was calling down everyone in the family to know about the crash and that we need help

My brother call our dad (he works in a hospital lucky me) he sent an ambulance to pick us out, sometime until the ambulance arrive I could feel my body again just a little but it hurts like a motherfucker, because of the pain I realized that my arm was broken it appear a bunch of useless bunch of rubber than something with meat and bones, I had a cut in my head it was like 12 cm long, my face was completely fucked up I had blood all over it in summary I was completed fucked up from top to bottom.

I arrive in the hospital a moment later, there I know that my mom had a broken leg and that my brother was completely ok, “he doesn’t even have a scratch on him “ I said to myself, the doctors treated me, they stich me and medicate me up to my eyebrows and then I was internated there a week.

While I was recovery in the hospital room I was frustrated and fear because all
That happen then I started to wrapped my mind about the photo of the old lady and all the events involved in the accident and began to ask the why and how of all, later that day my mother ask me what is wrong with me that I was so on edge, I tell her the whole thing about the photo then she tell every member of the family there in the hospital with us a moment later she asked me to describe the old lady in the photo to all the people there, when i finished telling them every detail I could remember my uncle Julio (older brother of my mom like 30 years) and his son my uncle Guillermo(he is my cousin but the difference in age makes me want to call him uncle) they tell me they probably know who is. The lady in the photo, the next day my uncles showed me a photo of my grand-grandmother and she is the same person that the woman in the photo I saw before the accident, then they tell me that the only people who knows about how she looked like are my grandfathers and my 2 uncles.

A couple years later I find an article about metaphysics explaining that when you see a late relative in a situation when your life is in peril it means in a religious way that I was a situation when you were going to die they help you go to the other side or it is not your time to go they shield you from evil and help you survive, sometimes I think that all of that happen because my grandfather birthday was that same day so she help me and all of us as a birthday present to him.
