Character education is a form of human activity in which there is an educational act devoted to the next generation. The purpose of character education is to form individual self-improvement and to train oneself in the direction of a better life.

In the beginning, the man was born carrying only "Personality" or personality. In general human personality there are 4 kinds and there are many theories that use different terms and some even use the color, but the pattern remains the same. In general human personality there are 4, namely:
1. Koleris: this type is characterized by a person who likes independence, firm, fiery, likes challenge, boss upon himself.
2. Sanguin: This type is characterized by practical, happy and cheerful always, likes surprises, loves social activities and fun.
3. Plegmatis: This type is characterized by collaboration, avoid conflict, do not like a sudden change, a good conversation, like the sure thing.
4. Melancholy: this type is characterized by detail, saving anger, perfectionism, likes clear instructions, routine activities are well-liked.
Above this is a classical theory and now this theory is widely evolved, and is still widely used as a test tool to the measurement of human potential.
The strengthening of moral education or character education in the present context is very relevant to overcome the current moral crisis in our country. The crisis, among others, in the form of increasing promiscuity, the rise of violence of children and adolescents, crime against friends, theft of teenagers, cheating, abuse of drugs, pornography, and the destruction of other people's property has become a social problem that until now has not solved completely, therefore the importance of character education.
According to the Expert: Lickona, the characters relate to moral concepts, moral attitudes, and moral behavior. Based on these three components it can be stated that the good character is supported by knowledge of goodness, the desire to do good, and do good deeds.
