So sick of the flood of spam comments on Steemit!
Lately I've been posting on Steemit and I'm seeing a flood of spam commenting on my posts.
Why bother?
What is the point of doing it, it's always new account flooding everyones posts with spam comments that don't relate to my post in the hopes of getting me to upvote them and follow them. IT WILL FAST TRACK YOU TO BEING FLAGGED!.
Devalues Steemit
Steemit is all about enriching the blockchain with valuable original content, spamming everyone with the same comments is devaluing the blockchain with rubbish and bringing it down to the level of drivel on Facebook. When I see a spam auto comment on my post I take offence to it that you were so lazy you couldnt even read my content.
Reporting
Everytime I see mindless auto follow for follow comments on my blog I will be reporting them because personally I can't stand it, we use Steemit because of the quality that is posted and the intelligence on display here, these new users spamming the platform need to learn it's not acceptable so I encourange everyone to start flagging these people.
Wait for it now this post complaining about spammers will probably receive more spam. If you want follow for follow or you want to post trash go back to the moronic platforms like Facebook or instagram and post your duck face or abusive comment with no way of taking action about it!

I am a newbie here. I am choosy about the articles I wish to read and will comment on them appropriately. Hopefully, I can value to the content. I have never asked anyone to follow me. I won't because I feel that if I have taken the time to write something, I want it to be judged on its own merits.
The same is true for flagging. I will probably never resort to this. I believe in positive feed back. Spamming is not positive and is not worth my time nor effort.
Well said Ceci! That is exactly how you should approach Steemit. I very rarely downvote. Instead I try to "teach" them how it should be done.

Totaly agree i dont get the point in spamming begging for follows and such.
And now just sit and whit for the spam comment pop here... without even checking the content. Because why bother.

Yea, it's of no help to anyone post spam or using an auto comment bot.

Theres so many of them, they think it's an easy way to make money on steemit, I'm starting to flag them now.
I think we all need to flag them to slow them down
