How to Be Strong in Tough Times? 🙇 💪

How you ever been in such a bad situation where you feel like you just want to quit life? No matter whatever you do, nothing seems to be going right.

You are just one of millions of people who are in the same situation right now. We are all human beings, and no matter how much we try to segregate one another through racism, religion or culture, we are pretty similar to one another. We all think the same, we have similar interests and we look for similar things in the people we fall in love with. So the moment you feel lost, just stop!

You are not alone! You are not in this by yourself and no matter how bad your situation is, there is always someone who is living a more depressing life than you. Sorry to burst your bubble, but you are not that special after all. Haha I am only kidding. You are special, every individual is special. But that specialty lies dormant deep within which hasn't been released. However, that is another topic for another day.

Why do We Feel the Need to Give Up?

Psychologically, your brain wants you to do something with the least effort. Whether it is crossing the road when the lights are red or cutting through the queue to get served faster, your brain always wants things done with the least amount of effort. In that sense, your brain thinks that it is making you more efficient. However, this has a downside. This makes you extremely lazy. It brings down your self motivation and makes you give up something before you even try.

As you stop attempting new things/experiences, your body and mind keeps going through a self degradation. And slowly but surely you will give up everything. Hence, when the moment comes in your life when everything is going wrong, you choose nothing but to end it all! This is the downside to choosing the path with the least effort.

Practices to Make You Feel Strong

Here are some of my tips on how to be strong when all hopes fail:

You Are Not Alone
The most important thing to remember is to feel that you are alone in this. Help is always right around the corner. Speak to a friend or your family members, and if you are not comfortable there are always services like mind.org.uk, where there are helplines you can call for free and talk to someone annonomously.

Listen/Watch Motivational Content
When I feel down or lazy, I watch videos that motivate me to do something. I also listen to a lot of audio tracks of people who inspire me and make me get up from my chair and head to the gym. I recommend watching Elliot Hulse on YouTube or listening to Alan Watts tracks on YouTube.

Meditate
When nothing goes right, meditate on that feeling. Observe yourself internally. How does this feeling of hopelessness feel? Which area of your body is this feeling coming from? Are there any underlying feelings attached to this feeling of hopelessness? Don't judge any of these answers, just observe. You may just find all the answers you were looking for!

Fake it Till You Make It
The last one is a cliche and a lot of big shots use this. If you keep thinking and feeling that great things will happen to you, they will! You can call it the divine, the universe or simply just luck! Try it for yourself and see what you think! And if it works, then don't forget to comment below. Maybe I will use your techniques haha!

Conclusion

We are all human beings, and there is nothing wrong in feeling hopeless. This is just a part of life. But as life progresses, so will you. Just keep going through the tough times so that the happier days are worth it!
