Lingshan's Laughing Buddha

In Jiangsu province, Wuxi is home to a massive, sprawling Buddhist temple called Lingshan. There, you can find a huge metal sculpture of Milefo  弥勒佛. There are many different types and incarnations of Buddha. Milefo is the fat and cheerful one.  He is usually depicted as topless and smiling. Many depictions of him show him entertaining children, and the bronze statue of him at Lingshan is no different.  There, he is covered with children, and the attention to detail is tremendous. It's easy to walk around this statue and get extremely absorbed in looking at the kids themselves. Nearly all of them are being naughty in some way.
