STEPS TOWARDS HUMILITY

Humility is a human virtue attributed to someone who has developed awareness of their own limitations and weaknesses, and acts accordingly. Humility is a value opposite to pride.

Currently arrogance has been imposed in society as a lifestyle practiced by many people who feel extremely vain and better than others. However, this is considered an anti-value in all those who practice it since their egocentricity encourages them to live a negative and bitter life But humility is the first step towards spiritual renewal in order to find grace before God

The Bible speaks to us countless times about the importance of humility and advises us through its word to live a life of humility in order to enjoy God's blessings and the first step towards humility is to recognize our condition, our weaknesses and dependence on God for our lives

Psalm 10:17
You, Lord, hear the prayers of the poor; you encourage them and pay attention to them
(RVR1960)

This verse alludes to humility because when it says that God hears the prayers of the poor, he is referring to the humble because certainly the Christian must constantly strengthen the things that God has sown in his heart and be ready to repent of any sin, to make amends for any errors, which will help the believer to walk more assuredly in the path of the spirit

Proverbs 11: 2
With pride comes disgrace, but wisdom accompanies
The humble

Pride is a very harmful or damaging act for those who practice it, in addition to being a disgrace in the eyes of the world and of God because the arrogant person is foolish and will never recognize their mistakes and they will feel self-sufficient but the humble will always be accompanied by wisdom

Psalm 37:11
But the humble will inherit the earth and enjoy great well-being

The humble are people who enjoy many blessings because God looks with favor on the humble and grants them the desire of his heart. God applies this verse in a special way to the kingdom of God that will be delivered to the meek

Also in the following verse he argues the following:

Psalm 25: 9
The Lord shows his way to the humble, and guides them in righteousness

God is attentive to the humble heart to guide them in his justice and the Lord himself will show us the correct path to walk when we humbly obey his word, that is why the meek will inherit the earth according to God's promises because he hears and blesses the humble but does not listen to the proud

Practicing humility is also an act of faith towards God and a virtue that really makes us great to be better people.
