Mygla & Torstein Hyl - Sjølvforsynt Bonde (demo)

Song I did in 2007 with one of the coolest Norwegian rappers (Torstein Hyl from Side Brok) about ten years ago, produced by one of the best producers (Big Ice of Da Playboy Foundation), recorded by another one of the finest producers in Norway (Hkon from Bergen). After years of living in the rural part of Norway, only communication with other rapper (or rap fans for that sake) being online, I was finally living in Bergen, and getting connections with the scene, rappers, producers etc. I got the beat by trading a rare cd (Penthouse Playaz Clique's debute album), Torstein Hyl I had met randomly at an airport a few years back, and we kept sporadic contact online, so I asked him to do a feature and he said "yes, I'm in Bergen, I'll come do a verse". But I had to studio, just a mic and a pc. So another producer (St. Bruno, The Notorious Phd, who I'm still working with) got the keys to a youth club in Bergen, that had a "studio" (a mic and a pc in a little bigger room than mine) and Hkon (who is doing pretty big now, great producer) came and did the recording. Torstein Hyl (Runar) showed up and did a great job, took his time hanging out with us kids, a great experience.

It was going to be the foundation of my debute album, and I was pretty ambitious. A 120kg Norwegian gangsta rapper full of confidence.... then I got Crohn's disease. Moved back home to the country side, forgot about rapping for a while, got a little better, starter working, got a family, got sick again, got a little better again... So now, 10 years later, I'm finally gearing up to releasing my album, 40 some kg's lighter and on my own label. Mygla - Bygdemagasinet Myglafon, coming to your favourite streaming service soon.
