How much time do you dedicate to God?
How much time do you dedicate to God?
We strive, sometimes, to make a space for our daily prayer, or the Eucharist, but so tight and tight that we seem to do it more out of obligation than out of love. And, at night, we are so tired and it is so late, that we do not even remember to offer the Lord neither the last moments of the day nor the rest of the night. How many days we pass, full of things and activities in which God has not been present.
We decorate them, yes, with a few prayers prayed perhaps routinely, but they end, again and again, empty of the most essential: God. And, without realizing it, the distance between our life and our faith widens, between our day to day, muddied in the traffic of activism, and that God who never tires of waiting at the door of each day.
God does not deserve just a few minutes. He has to be given everything. All day should be for Him, because "in Him we live, we move and we exist". A fulfilling and measuring heart is content to measure love for minutes.
The heart of God, on the other hand, does not measure, it surrenders. You have to educate the supernatural sense of things and people, to be seasoned with the taste of the divine that day without God, in which you live entangled and scattered.
Your faith becomes insipid and sterile, if you do not soak up with it every moment of your journeys, and your journeys will be vain seeds, if they are not strongly rooted in the land of love and the presence of God.
Time is not yours, it is from God; Do not waste it on infidelities and mediocrities, because it is a precious talent called to bear fruit in works and in interior life.
Hi @ricardo12!
Normally, in the day we have 8 hours to work, 8 hours to sleep and, the other 8 hours? what do we do?
However, we have the privilege of dedicating 24 hours a day to God, leaving in their hands: family, church, work, plans, etc, in continuous adoration.
The enemy of our soul naturally knows this and will do everything he can to convince himself to "waste time". The temptations used in our times have a lot to do with distractions. There are ways, the most varied, of deviating from what should be our main objective: our preparation to find God.
The Bible makes us to understand that the devil is like a roaming lion, seeking for whom to devour. He has his way of bringing lively and time wasting activities to us such that we neglect God and don't have his time. But there is a solution for us which is prayer. " the prayer of the righteous avails much"
