The Power of Conscious Living - How to Use It to Create a Happier Life

To practice Conscious Living means really only one thing - to live a life in balance. This is the only way to achieve any type of spiritual growth. How can we achieve this spiritual growth? What is it really like to live "Consciously"? I will answer these questions in this article. I encourage you to read it, as it is something I know has helped many people (including me).


To practice conscious living is the single most important thing that you can do for your self and is also the most powerful way to heal. What does that mean exactly? Conscious Living means really just bringing a very intense level awareness to EVERY thing that you do from this moment forward. Rather than doing things only "the way they've always been done", I believe that we all have the power and ability to make our lives beautiful and to heal ourselves and others. I don't think anyone needs to go looking for special teachers, re-training programs or courses, because this is something that we all have and we can each practice on a daily basis!

The first steps towards developing a more conscious lifestyle and the path to healing comes with taking time to examine ourselves deeply. Begin with some basic self-talk. I find this especially helpful for individuals who have recently experienced loss of someone dear to them, as their loved ones may be very close to them. Reminding yourself of how important your loved ones are, even in the face of difficult circumstances, helps keep you grounded and remember to be grateful for what you have now, and also for what you have lost along the way.

The next step to improving your health and wellness and to developing a more conscious lifestyle is to practice conscious living on a daily basis. I like the saying that the more you care about something, the more you do it. When I say "care about" I mean literally, pay attention to, focus on and nurture the things that are important to you. This does not mean you have to spend every waking moment practicing meditation or spending hours in front of a bright light, but you should give your habits some time to rest and to rejuvenate.

One of the next steps towards developing an improved inner peace is to make time to do the things that bring you joy. If you haven't noticed, I have been very clear about my goals for many years and have accomplished much in spite of that. The reason I haven't achieved my goals is that I've put other, more important things on the side or that get pushed aside or simply get forgotten. It has taken me a number of years to put my health and happiness first, and only after those goals were achieved, did I begin to practice conscious living. However, when I did achieve these goals, it was because I put my health and happiness first; this habit has saved me from a lot of unnecessary pain and heartache.

Now that you're focused on developing your inner peace and you are taking some time to notice what you are doing that is not helping you reach your goals, begin to write down some positive and constructive thoughts. As you continue to practice conscious living, you will see that this process becomes second nature to you. As you find yourself consistently filling your mind with positive thoughts, your mood will become much more stable and you will be able to live a life that works for you.

Finally, one of the final steps towards improving your quality of life is to develop the awareness to begin to spend time in peaceful meditation, while also making time to eat mindfully. Both of these things are important if you want to have a life that works for you. While the former keeps you healthy and in shape so that you can maintain a happy mental state that will lead to a physical state of wellness, the latter will help you deal with stress so that it does not rule your life.


You will soon realize that when you choose to practice conscious living you are going to reap the many benefits that come with it. This will bring about a huge shift in how you view and interact with the world around you. You will no longer waste energy thinking negatively and you will be able to experience an amazing level of happiness. The interconnected nature of our bodies and minds means that we all have a choice as to how we live our lives. Choose to create a happy life and make it work for you.
