Overcoming Self-Doubt - How To Overcome Self-Confidence And Be Smart Enough Again

Overcoming self-doubt can be a mighty challenge for some. The thought of dealing with a myriad of half-baked ideas, unsure dreams and fears is enough to paralyze many people into a state of depression. However, if you can overcome this adversity, the rewards are like a freight train pulling slowly but steadily towards your goal.


When self-doubts cast its ugly shadow over your desires, everything gets blurred. What once looked like a good idea, is now filled with defects. You become easily distracted by thoughts of failures and shift your attention to something new.

So, what is the answer? Overcoming self-doubts is not something that you can accomplish overnight. Overcoming the fear of trying something new is never easy. So the first step towards overcoming self-doubts and getting over the anxiety, is to make friends. Make friends in the same shoes as you; so when you have an innerologue that criticizes you for every imperfection, it's not as visible as it might otherwise be. This is an important first step towards building your self esteem and building your self confidence.

Overcoming self-doubts, by nature, involves facing them and acknowledging that they are there. To do this, we must stop thinking about them. When you stop listening to your inner dialogue, your mind becomes available to receive information from another person. Overcoming self-doubts, is not something that can be accomplished by remaining oblivious to our internal dialogue. We must stop listening to our inner critics and make friends.

Let's take a look at an example of overcoming self-doubt. Consider this: When you are at work, you may notice that other people pay attention to the things that you are saying. When we are working, we often ignore the things that we are saying because we are focused on the task at hand. So if we ignore what others are saying, we will never fully understand what they are saying.

Here is another example of how you can overcome self-doubt by allowing yourself to take action. If you have a habit of putting off starting something, whether it is taking a break or completing something important, you may find that the more time you put it off, the more things you will put off doing. If you want to build your self confidence, you must allow yourself to take action. So spend some time doing that which you are afraid of doing.

Here's another example to help you overcome self-doubt in your everyday life. Whenever you enter your office building, do you see a hallway light? If you don't, consider how you may have avoided it if it were not there. You may find that it will help you overcome your self doubt by making you focus on the hallway light when you enter your workplace.

As you can see, there are many different steps that you can take to help you become more confident. However, the one thing that most people who are successful have in common is that they allow themselves to be confident. Remember to always do the things that you are afraid of doing and you will find that you will become more successful and overcome self-doubt.

Okay, so you might be able to determine a few things about your own self-doubt and you would be able to use the examples above to overcome it. However, what if your fear is much greater than this? What if you could predict with certainty that some worst case scenario could happen and you could prepare for it? What if you could tell yourself that your biggest fears were never real?

When you get to the point where you think that you could die from overworking yourself or worrying about failures that you should not even have occurred, then you have stopped listening to your self-confidence and you have stopped overthinking. It is very easy for you to fall into the rut of negative thinking and negative emotions. It can be quite difficult to get out of that emotional state. The key here is to stop listening to your emotions and start focusing on your self-confidence. Overthinking negatively will only make you more stressed and depressed because your brain will continue to feed into your mind the false ideas that you are having. Instead, you should be trying to focus on your self-confidence and the results that you can get from it.


Once you are able to start feeling better about yourself you will then start feeling confident about anything you do. You will no longer be fearful of making new friends or being the person who is smart enough to make the best decisions in any situation. The best part is that this process will not take very long. In fact, you may have already made many new friends before you even realized you had a problem. Overcoming self-doubt is not as hard as you may think; all it takes is some effort on your part and you will be well on your way to feeling totally healthy about yourself again.
