Happiness - Pursuit Of The Goal

Have you ever stopped to wonder what exactly is it that makes us happy? In the United States, studies show that in fact people do not live as far from being happy as they may think. For instance, it appears happiness depends on both your situation and the people around you. A sad breakup or a sick child can send someone straight to hell, but these things rarely, if ever, bring happiness to those who experience them.


Happiness is a complex state of mind. The dictionary defines it as a state of well-being, characterized by enjoyment and satisfaction with one's life. So what exactly does this mean? It means that your emotional state is reflected in the state of your body and your mind. A happy mind and body are a happy pair.

If you are happy, you are able to appreciate and take pleasure in the small blessings that life offers you. The happiness you experience is centered on the positives, and not the negative. People who are very sad tend to focus only on the negative aspects of their lives, missing out on the enjoyment and appreciation they could have.

Most people spend their entire day looking at the negative aspects of their lives and find it hard to find any joy in their surroundings. People who are happy spend their days living for the moment and finding enjoyment in each and every act of their lives. They see beauty in the simplest things, and savor the simplest pleasures. The more a person looks at and appreciates the good in his life, the more he cherishes and respects his freedom of choice.

You must learn to be happy if you expect to find true happiness in your life. Most people find happiness through some form of social activity, such as a community service, charity or volunteering. These activities bring people together in an effort to make the world a better place. There is no better feeling than being a part of something bigger than yourself. And when you find true happiness through these endeavors you are well on your way to achieving a higher state of happiness and fulfillment.

Sometimes happiness comes when we least expect it. One of my favorite sayings states, 'The happiness that can't be seen, won't be missed.' When you look at your life with a clearer perspective, you will notice that sometimes you are actually happy even when you are not. Living in the present makes happiness that much sweeter. Staying present in your life allows you to appreciate the small blessings in everyday life.

Happiness is finding your niche and pursuing it to the fullest. If you are content where you are, you won't go far in your journey to happiness. Successful people find a passion of their own and follow their passions to the fullest. By doing this they learn what truly makes them happy and pursue their passion to the fullest. Being happy in your work, as well as being happy with your home and surrounding you is a great way to achieve a high level of happiness in your life.

No matter how big or small your problem may be, do not underestimate the power of simply changing your mindset and seeing things from a different perspective. Once you begin to see the good in even the ugliest thing, you will find that happiness comes easily. A happy mind is a powerful mind and by changing your outlook and viewpoint towards life you can change your happiness.

Another factor in achieving happiness is to surround yourself with positive people and places. You will find that when you surround yourself with like minded and positive people, you will begin to feel happier and more happy in your day to day life. It is a proven fact that if you are surrounded by only bad people and negative places, you will only feel miserable. However, if you surround yourself with people who are proud of themselves and happy with their lives you will begin to enjoy your time even though you are surrounded with things that make you unhappy.

The pursuit of happiness is an ongoing process. You will never reach your goal of happiness if you are not willing to make changes in your lifestyle and outlook on life on a constant basis. If you sit back and wait for happiness to fall into your lap, you may find it will instead slip away. To achieve happiness, you must be willing to make changes in your life and attitude. You will not find happiness in your past experiences, but happiness will come to you if you look for happiness in the future and prepare for it now. You must be willing to face the fears that might keep you from happiness.


Remember, you can have happiness. You can be happy, and it is possible. The key is to choose to live a happy life, and follow through. If you want to achieve lasting happiness, you must do the work necessary to get there.
