Developing the Right Thoughts

Developing the Right Mindset is a topic that has been touched on many a time in many different ways, but what I am really getting at here are the concepts of positivity and negativity. There are many people out there who will tell you that being positivity is the way to go. However, when I talk to people about this I often get a lot of negative responses, as people try to justify their negativity by stating that they do not see anything wrong with the way things are currently set up. When I ask why they do not see anything wrong, it usually turns into a discussion about how things could be better, or that the current situation is fine. This really does not answer the question, "Why do you think that is?"


One reason that we may have negativity in our lives comes from the way we think. Many people suffer from the belief that everything is bad or sad. They feel as though the world is out to get them and is holding them back emotionally. It is these types of people that need help in developing the positive thinking processes that will allow them to develop positively. By changing the way that we think we can turn things around.

By using the word positivity we are not telling the world that things are good or even right. Instead, we are saying that we feel good about doing the right things and are grateful for the opportunities that come our way. By staying positive we are saying that we believe that life is a beautiful thing and that we have incredible powers that go beyond our physical abilities. In other words by using the word positivity we are saying that we do not take ourselves too seriously but rather we believe in the power that we have.

The way that this works is that when we use the term positivity we are not saying that we have bad or negative thoughts but rather that we are in the state of happiness or joy because of what we are doing. So it becomes a conscious act on our part to be positive and stay in that state of happiness. What happens when we allow negative thoughts into our minds is that suddenly we are able to see them for what they really are. We then become angry, hurt, sad, or any other emotion that is related to that situation. That is because we are experiencing negative thoughts that lead us down a path of negativity instead of to a positive state.

When we are able to be in the state of positivity we will not experience negativity upon us. Instead we will notice positive things. This is because our thoughts are changing from negative thoughts to positive thoughts. So what happens is we are allowing ourselves to be in the state of happiness rather than feeling bad. This allows us to focus on the positive things that we are doing rather than dwelling on the negative things that are going on.

So how do we allow ourselves to stay positive instead of being in the state of negativity? The first thing that we have to do is focus on what we love doing. If you have hobbies that you are very good at you should really work on them to the point that you are having fun with it and being passionate about what you are doing. This will make your life a lot easier to live and will bring more positive thoughts into your life.

Another way to allow yourself to stay positive is to write things down. You don't necessarily have to write about what you are going to do or why you are doing it but just have a goal or a list of things that you would like to achieve. Writing things down, gives you something to look at each day to keep you focused. It will also keep you from dwelling on all the negative thoughts. So instead of dwelling on the negative things you can just write it down and move on to more positive thought.


Another great way to develop a positive attitude is to listen to yourself talk. If you are listening to someone who is negative and talking about how bad life is then listen to them and tell them that life is beautiful and worth living. If you are living your life and not enjoying it, you have to listen to yourself. Listening to yourself will help you to get rid of negative thoughts and eventually change your life to be more positive. Just remember that you can only change what is in your mind and no one else can make you change your mind. Developing a positive attitude is totally up to you and if you want to develop one you need to start with yourself and let everything else fall into place.
