Are You Undergoing Too Much Anger Management?

Anger is a powerful emotion characterized by hostility towards an object or person you consider has intentionally done you harm. Anger can sometimes be a very good thing. It can help you to vent your anger at an unfair situation, for instance, or motivate you to seek appropriate solutions to difficult problems. At other times anger can be used as a weapon--a way to hurt and dominate others. Anger in relationships can be extremely destructive.


There are many people who are angry all the time. If you have anger issues and don't know where to turn for help, it can be very hard to cope with. There are some options open to you that will make it easier to deal with difficult situations when they arise. Some of these are discussed below.

First of all, if you have intermittent explosive disorder (IED), you will have episodes of anger outbursts without warning. You may not realize that the episodes are triggered. Instead of staying calm and controlling your anger, you can start feeling physically changes such as increased heart rate, sweaty palms, shortness of breath, and other reactions. These physical changes indicate that you are getting angry faster than usual.

In addition to having IED, you may also be suffering from bipolar disorder or major depression. This condition is characterized by both unusual and extreme highs (mania) and lows (depression). The bipolar-disorder symptoms include irritability, insomnia, fatigue, restlessness, and impulsiveness. When you start experiencing anger symptoms such as irritability and insomnia, it is a good idea to seek help to control them.

One other option is to get a therapist to teach you how to express your feelings. While you may not feel angry very easily, learning how to express your feelings properly will help you control your mental health. If you are not able to control your emotions, you might explode at anyone who tries to talk to you. On the other hand, if you regularly exercise and do yoga, you will notice that your symptoms reduce. In addition, you will feel more in control of your life, and you will be happier overall.

If you are feeling physically ill due to frequent anger outbursts, it is time to see a doctor. One possible reason why you are suddenly feeling ill is because you are releasing too much stress hormones into your blood stream. In addition to triggering physical changes, the release of too many stress hormones could also be attributing to your emotional changes. In other words, if you consistently feel angry, that could be a sign that you lack adequate sleep. A good night's sleep will allow your body to heal itself, and it will help to reduce the amount of anger you experience.

If you are not treating your anger problems effectively, they could lead to more severe symptoms such as depression, phobias, or social anxiety disorder. It has been proven that there is a genetic connection between people who suffer from one type of mental health issue and those who experience severe anger problems. If you have parents that struggle with anger issues, you may also be destined to suffer from it yourself.


No matter what type of mood or physical effects you are experiencing, if you make a concerted effort to work through your anger issues, you can find relief. Many people who suffer from panic attacks and other types of disorders use these techniques effectively to overcome their anger issues. When you take the proper steps to learn how to effectively deal with your emotions, you will be able to live a happier and healthier life.
