POSTCARD FROM NAGOYA
Back in Nagoya in Central Japan! If you want to get around central Japan in winter (one of the best seasons to enjoy Central Japan), it's easier to take a flight to Nagoya so it's close enough to get around.
The first day we arrived in Nagoya and immediately went around before moving to another city. What can be enjoyed in Nagoya in a short time? Here are some photos (and info) about what to enjoy in Nagoya.
NAGOYA CASTLE
Looks like this attraction is not to be missed in Nagoya if you first visit this city. Nagoya Castle has a characteristic that we can see on the roof (and this is also a symbol of Nagoya), which is a tiger-headed fish with gold color.
Nagoya Castle is also the first Castle in Japan to be designated a Natinal Treasure. Besides playing Castle, we can also look into Hommaru Palace and the park area around the main Castle area.

OASIS 21
The area with the theme "Space ship Aqua" is in the Sakae area and looks striking with the futuristic character of this building. On the top floor we can walk around to see the Nagoya TV tower view with a "transparent pool" where we can look directly into the lower floor area of the building.
At Oasis 21 there are also various shops and restaurants, but of course the main attractions are the rooftop and the park with this futuristic building background.

TAKAYAMA HOKURIKU AREA TOURIST PASS
Take the Takayama Hokuriku Area Tourist Pass at the JR outlet
Takayama Hokuriku Tourist Pass Area can be exchanged for reserved seats in the area covered by the Pass (limited, read on the JR Pass website for complete information) This
JR PASS is ideal for traveling around Takayama Hokuriku Area on a route that includes Kansai Airport, Osaka, Kyoto, Fukui, Komatsu, Kanazawa, Shirakawa-Go, Toyama, Takayama, Gero to Nagoya. Pass can also be used to ride several bus routes.
Takayama Hokuriku Area Tourist Pass is valid for 5 days which is ideal for exploring the cities on the pass route.

We toured in Nagoya before heading to Takayama for the next destination Shirakawa-go. So if you want to enjoy Shirakawa-go especially in winter, you can start from Nagoya :)
