Why Are Women More Frequently Complicated At Heart Attacks?

Dr Antonia Anna Lukito, SpJP (K), FIHA FSCAI, FAPSIC presented at the launch of Azurion by Royal Phillips in Jakarta, Thursday (28/09/2017) that the first symptoms of coronary heart disease are usually a heart attack or sudden death. These symptoms occur in 62 percent of men and 45 percent of women.
However, women more often experience complications when having a heart attack. What caused it?
Antonia, Head of Cardiovascular Department FK UPH who is also Chairman of the Indonesian Heart Health Working Group, said that women are more often ignored when reporting symptoms of heart disease. It can not be separated from the misconception that women have a stronger heart than men.

In fact, data from Basic Health Research (Riskesdas) says that housewives, among Indonesian women's populations, are most vulnerable to heart attacks.
"The danger, the promotion of heart prevention in women is still less when compared with men. Women are also always late in getting first aid, cholesterol treatment, and others, "said Antonio.
