More video game publishers are popping up to give indie games physical releases
Limited Run Games was established four years ago as a small operation devoted to bringing games that only received a digital release to a physical format. The company was inspired to go this route when they wanted to see their own game Breach and Clear get released on physical media, which eventually grew into a publisher for other indie developers.
Over the past four years, Limited Run Games has grown into a fun publisher to watch. Not only do they bring small and interesting games to physical media, but they also produce amazing collectors editions with bonuses like posters, CD soundtracks and more. Their Night Trap collector's edition even included a VHS (you read that right) copy of the game's footage edited into a 'film.'
Thanks to the success of Limited Run Games, other companies have sprouted to bring even more digital-only games to the game collectors market. Here's a list of other companies who have gotten into the niche-publishing scene and a list of some of the Nintendo Switch games they're releasing on physical media.

I really do appreciate these companies releasing these great indie games in physical form. Definitely going to keep my eye out for The Messenger and Dead Cells!
It's too bad they don't really produce them anymore but I always really liked the IndieBox physical PC releases. A platform that you really don't see physical releases for anymore.
My favorite was their Hollow Knight box! It even came with a plushie Grub!! ;)
Dead Cells is next on my 'must buy' list. But first I have to get through Hollow Knight and I am absolutely addicted to this game. I was not expecting something this amazing. Like i said, I'll be picking up the physical copy of Hollow Knight when it gets a release - hopefully they produce a special edition too.
I wish I had waited on buying Enter the Gungeon, since that's getting a badass collector's edition too.
I'll happily pay $30 for a great $15 game if I can get a 'forever' copy.
