Litecoin is the only true 'altcoin'
With the never-ending release of countless crypto coins on to the market we should take a step back and view the vast majority of them for what they are.
Litecoin was the first alt to come on the scene and was viewed by most to be silver to Bitcoins gold. With this in mind people should be very careful when investing in coins that have nothing to offer other than a dream.
While there are some very interesting projects (Steemit being one), any coin that offers nothing new should be ignored hands down.
Litecoin was not the first altcoin, as far as I know that was Namecoin. It's wasn't even the first straight clone.
Ah, I will look at that, if that's the case my apologies. It was definitely 'one of the first' and was the first to gain traction.
As with every new thing, copycats flock to it instantly once it is proven.
