According to reports published by Football leaks, the FIFA president has been accused of aiding Premier League and Ligue 1 champions, Manchester City and Paris Saint Germain in getting away with breaking the FIFA Fair Play (FFP) rule.

Infantino was elected in 2016 to cleanse the World Football governing body off corruption which rocked it and saw to the dismissal of former president, Joseph Sepp Blatter but it seems he is as guilty as his predecessor.

Another German outlet published the Infantino while Secretary General of UEFA, along with his then President, Michel Platini provided the two clubs (aforementioned) with confidential documents with which they got away with sanctions for breaking the rule.

Also indicted in this corruption and fraud allegation is former France President, Nicolas Sarkozy who was said to have masterminded the purchase of PSG and also saw to Qatar being awarded the rights for the 2022 FIFA World Cup.

Both PSG and Manchester City have subsequently come out to refute such claims and term them as unfounded.

Further allegations against the body is the deliberate replacement of the term "corruption and bribery" with only "bribery" in its ethics and conduct act which some See as fraudulent.

The body and its president have also come out to refute all claims, stating that all these are just to undermine the efforts of the body towards a fresh start.

It remains to be seen where this leads.
