Czech Republic International Petr Cech has announced that he will be calling it quit from the round leather game after enjoying 20 successful years of professional football.

The Arsenal goalkeeper feels it is the right time to say goodbye to the wonderful game after winning almost everything there is to win as a player.

Having spent 15 years in the English Premier League already, he has won all available titles in the league and even a Champions League medal to his name with Chelsea.

Cech started football at his hometown club, Viktoria Plzen before making a move to Chmel Blasny where he made his debut as a 17-year old.

Not long after his debut did he move to Slavia Prague where he began to attract interest from Europe and Chelsea but his first move outside his country was to Rennes in France where he spent two seasons.

The Chelsea move finally materialised in 2004 when Claudio Ranieri signed him for £7 million but he served the better part of his career at Stamford Bridge under Jose Mourinho.

His consistency led him to making 494 appearances for Chelsea in 11 years, winning four each of Premier League and FA Cup titles, three League Cups and one each of the Champions League and Europa League titles.

He however found himself dropping down the pecking order following the emergence of Thibaut Corutois who returned to the club from his loan deal at Atletico Madrid.

It was not long before Cech called it quit on his time at Chelsea and move to the North of London to Arsenal in search of regular playing time in 2015.

With 129 appearances already made for the Gunners he has also gotten another FA Cup medal with Arsenal and could still be in line to win at least a trophy this season with Arsenal still competing for trophies on two fronts.

Arsenal are still in the FA Cup and Europa League but the Premier League title is a lost battle with the Gunners 16 points adrift of league toppers, Liverpool and 6 points off the top four.

Just like during his time at Chelsea, Cech has again fallen down the pecking order, losing his place to a more preferred Bernd Leno by New Arsenal coach Unai Emery.

The former Chelsea goalkeeper feels it is the right time to draw the curtains on his glorious footballing years.

He is going to be a great miss for the Premier League and the football World.
