At Long Last

in #football7 years ago

If I can remember vividly for how long Arsenal has been on the tail of Pierre Emerick Aubameyang, it is as far as the Emirates era and it is such a heart gladdening thing that alas, we got our man even though years have gone on him. I guess he could still give at least five years of fruitful services.

Auba was officially announced as an Arsenal player yesterday after completing a £56 million move from German top side, Borussia Dortmund that would see him earn £180,000 weekly wage, in what is Arsenal's record signing and had his first training session with his new club earlier today in preparation for the match against Everton on Saturday. Hopefully, he'd make his debut and I wish Arsene would play with two strikers upfront in a 3-5-2 formation. Auba is a really good addition to the although coming late in his career, he has some special features like Arsenal's great, Thierry Henry in Speed and an eye for goal. And with chances going to be abound from our creative hub, I see Auba making great strides with Arsenal.

It is surprising though that a team with such reputation as Arsenal have their record signing in just a little of £50 million. Well, perhaps or most likely, the prudent nature of Arsene Wenger is key to that but we hope better times are ahead with more great signings to come.

I personally believe the success, so to say in this years Winter transfer window is key to the fact that Arsene Wenger has been relieved of some duties one of which is the role taken up by Former Borussia Dortmund top official and the man in charge of transfers, Sven Milsintat. He I guess is one of the reasons we got the two former Dortmund stars down to the Emirates, especially being that he was the one who brought Auba down the Budensliga.

Another great news accompanying the arrival of Auba which for me is very key to our relevance in years to come is the giving German international, Mesut Ozil a new three and a half years contract earning him £300,000 weekly, becoming the highest Arsenal paid and only second best in England, in terms of wages to former Arsenal teammate, Alexis Sanchez who earns £350,000 following his move to the Manchester United this month and ending speculations of a possible move for the German to Manchester United. The mercurial Assist King has racked up 36 goals and 61 assists in 182 appearances for the gunners since joining in 2013 not forgetting he also triumph, winning the World Cup with the German National team during this period in 2014.

This season alone, he has score four goals and picked up seven assists in 21 appearances in all competitions. I must confess that in recent matches which he missed due to injuries and illness, we really missed his presence and creativity and with Mhki joining him, I look forward to a great partnership. I must confess that he has really improved his work rate and marking this season. Guess he has put his heart back at Arsenal.

Hope we can start all over from this point of this season and give Auba a befitting welcome.

SOOOOOO happy on Saturday. I think the first half Auba was struggling to find his place, felt stagnant in the box while everyone else was playing class one-touch football, but what can you expect from someone who met his teammates like 24 hours before? I think he is going to be prolific in the Prem for years to come and I hope Saturday will mark the beginning of a new era at AFC. I think getting the virus out was huge to our backroom, it felt like everyone was playing for the club on Saturday rather than playing for themselves.

Apt. You're so on point.

He felt isolated because of the team's formation. I'd have preferred we played with two strikers. Arsenal's game isn't totally his strength and if you noticed they were trying to play him behind the opposition's defence through long balls from the back for him to run onto.

I believ with time, he'll gel perfectly and I can't wait for him to bang against spurs.

100% I would love to see Laca & Auba play side by side with service from Mkhi & Ozil behind them. Rambo/Superjack paired with Elneny (depending on the day, Xhaka is poor right now though) to give us some going forward options/creativity paired with someone a little more defensive. Then Nacho, Kos, Mustafi, & Bellend as the back 4. Though I do want to see Kola in the lineup somewhere but I'm not sure who to replace him with at the moment. That's a good problem to have! Our team finally feels strong again (until we lose next).

And and now we've lost again.

I think we play better playing three at the back and Monreal feels more comfortable there. That should give Kola a place in the team and he could pair Auba and Lacazette in a 3-5-2 formation

Truly said, Xhaka is off for now. Perhaps we might need to invest in a DM in summer. Elneny hasn't been up there albeit, little play time

It was all a matter of time! But the lads need a fuckin win to get their confidence back and Laca needs to bag a goal and get that monkey off his back, poor dude looked fuckin shot on Saturday. Missing those two didn't help either.

And now he's put injured for up to six weeks plus Auba is unavailable for selection in the UEL...

Happy for the contract extension and the arrival of Auba.

And Mkhi! He's going to form a brilliant partnership with Ozil behind Auba & Laca.
