it might be the future of nintendo.. why not.. change is coming.. be better braised yourself of what is ahead of you...

No, because Nintendo is the only publisher/console developer who creates original hardware. I understand the fanbase of the PS and XBox and I own many iterations of them, but let's be honest, they're simplified PCs. Most of the game libraries are not only shared between each other, but also on PCs.

The Switch is a new and fresh console (essentially the modern realization of the TurboExpress/Nomad). Its bringing new ideas and new gaming possibilities to us that just can't happen on other systems. And so far, its been a huge success. Its Nintendo's willingness to swing for the fences that keeps them innovating. Sometimes that brings us the Wii, sometimes the Virtual Boy, but its trying something different and I applaud them for that.

I fear that if Nintendo were to go 3rd party, they would fall into the same malaise that effected Sega after their franchises started showing up on their competitor's systems. I would hate to see half-hearted Zelda, Mario and Metroid games shoved onto the next Playstation, so I hope that Nintendo never goes 3rd party.

Nintendo definitely needs to go multi-platform. I love Nintendo games and would definitely would play money to play them but I'm not willing to buy a whole new console just for that select handful of games, especially if that means playing it on weaker hardware.
