DNA - BTS Review

Within the first 24 hours on YouTube, the MV for BTS's “DNA” shattered K-pop records. Setting a new record for fastest K-pop group to receive ten million views and twenty million views, “DNA” was much evidently anticipated by many people. After them getting more and more popular in the past year, this MV and the album seemed to be the deciding point that would either launch them fully into the Western Pop Culture world. And the boys did not disappoint

The music was unlike anything they had done before with dance funk, futuristic bass and drops that somehow complimented each other when brought together. In certain interviews, RM has said that, "We tried to apply new grammar and perspectives — if you listen to the song, you’ll understand what I’m trying to say — it’s very different from our previous music, technically and musically."

The music video is colorful and playful, like following the group through a living art gallery as they pull off some of their slickest dance moves yet. The CGI adds its own touch to the overall look of the MV and the bright and unique clothes work with the background and setting. I have to say this is the most brightly lit BTS MV I have ever seen.
