Avengers Infinity War: Review (SPOILERS)

(I know this review is pretty late but I only got to watch it last week because the movie released literally the day IB exams started. EVERYONE watched it before me but thank god I went with no spoilers - the only plus of having my exams at that time because everyone around me was too busy to spoil it even after watching it.)

This movie did not let me breathe for a second!! For the entire 2 hours and 40 minutes of this movie I was on my toes, cheering, laughing and crying (okay it was only in one scene but STILL) along with the rest of the audience, and this was 3 weeks after the movie had released. I'm pretty sure most of the people there had just come to watch it again, like my cousin who I went with (it was his 4th time I think).

This movie was the perfect link for Marvel to connect every loose thread left from all the Marvel movies since the first Iron Man and I was THERE FOR IT. Every reference to past movies, dialogues and situations had me jumping on my seat and pointing at the screen intensely. And while most of the movie was intense and filled with action, there were moments of comedic relief provided when all of these amazing superheroes interacted with each other.

While there were quite a lot of deaths from the beginning to the end, some were surprising and some I had already predicted, the movie kept on moving quickly from scene to scene showing all the battles being played out on different fronts. But the one death that struck me, and literally everyone else, was my precious Petey's death in the end.

While not surprising, the moment was truly heartbreaking when he reached out to Tony, his mentor and surrogate father-figure, and faded away in his arms. This moment felt amplified by the fact that he was the only child superhero in the movie and was only driven by his desire to help, despite having no obligations as he wasn't a part of the Avengers when he decided to get on a spaceship.

Let's just say that this movie filled all that was missing in my life! It was absolutely satisfying and exactly what we wanted to see. It had balance and fluidity despite the many characters, places and events that needed to be covered. My uncle and aunt who watched it with me were also able to appreciate and enjoy the movie despite not having watched most of the previous movies and not having the insanely extensive knowledge that I had about Marvel. (My aunt's favourite thing about the movie was that Dr. Banner never turned into Hulk throughout the whole movie except that one scene in the beginning!) It was the kind of movie to watch at the cinema hall, especially in IMAX and 3D, which is exactly what I did.
