1. New York Times Promotes Witchcraft, Condemns Itself In Op-Ed - Author, Alex Berezow notes the irony between a NY Times article on witchcraft and an op-ed that ran just days later asking why people are too quick to believe pseudoscience on wellness. In the witchcraft article, the Times seems to let claims of witchcraft as a family heritage go unchallenged, but in the wellness article, the times apparently argued for skepticism in the face of pseudo-scientific claims about diet. I didn't read the source articles, but as described, the two articles in juxtaposition do seem to create a frustrating journalistic contrast. h/t RealClear Science

3. Want to visit the International Space Station? It’ll cost $58 million - Private citizens may be able to visit the International Space Station as soon as 2020. The round-trip fee is expected to be about $58 million plus $35,000 per night for up to 30 days. This is an update to the figure in the report from Interesting Links: June 8, 2019, which suggested that it would cost $11k to $22k per night. The agency will allow up to two visitors per year, and visitors will have to meet the same medical and trainng standards as NASA astronauts. h/t Mental Floss


4. Sensitive Whiskers Could Make Small Drones Safer - Inexpensive, easy to produce, light-weight fibers can detect air pressure changes from nearby objects before the drone comes in contact with them. This can be a safety feature for smaller drones where expensive technologies like LiDAR are impractical, especially those that operate in dark or smokey environments.

According to the review, the app is available for both Android and Google Play.
