Something similar here. I have to share rides with my son, as he is still a toddler. And honestly I hate it.
But seeing others and also my son, enjoying the rides make me feel good. :)

This is typically a mother's thing :)

They way you speak of your son and live your life around him, I would say that he must be really lucky to have you as his mother. I hope my mother was this way when I was his age albeit I cannot agree now :)

I wish he grows to acknowledge this fact and become proud of you.

Yeah, it's a typical mother thing. I hate it to be around him, I hate it to answer him every time, I hate it to show him my smiling face 24/7. But seeing him so helpless without me, I have to do that. It's my responsibility to give him a good life full of love.
Every mother has their sacrifice on their own way. Otherwise we would not be here.

I don't love it but somewhat enjoy it

I am kind of in the middle on this one. I'm not much into fast or hard rides, as I would describe them, where they fling you around at every possible speed and angle, but things like Pirates of the Caribbean at Disneyland or even the 3D shows at Universal Studios can be quite entertaining.

So, it depends on the theme park, and what's there to do. Mainly, it's been fun to see how my wife and when our boys were younger, how they would react to the different rides and characters (if any) that they would see.

Theme parks can be pretty expensive, though, so if it's mainly rides and not much else to see or do, than I'm probably just going to stand around and watch others have their fun. :)

I have some similar feeling on what you are saying. But as a mother I have to participate on the rides with my toddler son. I don't like this type of public gathering. But seeing people enjoying makes me feel good. But I don't like the rides. It's not about fear, I just don't like it.
People are crazy for theme park and I am total opposite. That's why I asked the poll.
