[Game Review] Crysis 3 - Is it the best one of the series?

Hello everyone and welcome to my review of Crysis 3. It is developed by Crytek and published by Electronic Arts. It was released on 19 February 2013. It is the third main installation of the Crysis series and a sequel to the Crysis 2. It is available for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 3, and Xbox 360. I am a big fan of Crysis(the first installment of the series) and Crysis 2 that's why I decided to give a sot to Crysis 3 and I think it was a good decision to try the game. I have always liked shooting, action games and this game perfectly suits my needs. I don't review much often but when I do make sure it is worth reviewing. So let's review Crysis 3....

If you have played any game of Crysis series, you will know it is a first-person shooter game. The main theme of the game starts in New York City which has been encased in a giant Nanodome created by the corrupt CELL corporation and turned into a veritable urban rainforest. Crysis 3's story is based on Alcatraz, Prophet's successor, and a Nanosuit holder who is on a quest to take revenge on the Alpha Ceph, with the help of Prophet's former comrade, Psycho. The gameplay of Crysis series revolves around a suit called 'Nanosuit' which gives the player many abilities such as being invisible. In Crysis 3 the Nanosuit has some new features like 'Rip and throw', a bow and hacking, which can hack a drone and other types of equipment of enemies.

The gameplay of Crysis 3 is set in a post-apocalyptic New York City, in an effort to combine the urban landscape of Crysis 2 and the forest setting of the original Crysis. The game introduces 'Seven Wonders' and in each wonder having its own unique landscape and tactical layout. According to some this game was developed by a team of 100 peoples in its 23 months of the development cycle. The main mission in this game is to defeat the technologically advanced alien race. If we talk about the movement feature, the main character can slide, sprint, jump and crouch. To defeat the enemies players will get many weapons like a gun, a bow and explosives like C4 and grenades or you can kill an enemy simply by using a melee attack. Some of the movement used by the main character, 'Prophet' uses decreases power from the Nanosuit that's why sometimes players have to wait for some time when the power of Nanosuit is too low to perform some abilities. In Crysis 3 the Artificial Intelligence of the enemy was updated so that the enemy react more quickly to the action of the player.

One great feature of the Nanosuit is it allows you identify the threat level and weapons held by the enemies. Levels are more open-ended than in Crysis 3 compared to Crysis 2. Players are given more freedom and can choose a gameplay style in order to defeat the enemy and complete their objectives. The Nanosuit works as an armor too and takes damages, but in exchange, it takes down the movement speed. One more feature of the suit is it provides an invisible cloak mode to evade enemies and save the player being detected and to a make a silent takedown. Players can upgrade the Nanosuit in order to increase the level of its ability.

Now talking about the multiplayer, in Crysis 3 the multiplayer mode is not much different from Crysis 2. In multiplayer mode when players sprint or boost their armor in the multiplayer modes, it does use any Nanosuit energy. It has 8 different levels and a total of 12 maps available to play on. They are Team Deathmatch, Deathmatch, Crash Site / Spears, Capture the Relay / Extraction, Hunter, Assault, Cell Vs Rebel, Developers Choice, Maximum Team Deathmatch, and Maximum Deathmatch. One more multiplayer mode called 'Hunters mode' is introduced in the game which pits two teams fighting against each other.

Now the main thing is - is it the best installment of the series? If I have to answer this, I will say Crysis 3 is undoubtedly a great game to play, but if I have to choose the best one the series I will say Crysis 1 is the best. After Crysis 1, the game "complexity" and Nanosuit behaviors have been shrunk, therefore limiting the potential in combat and interactions. Crysis 1 has the best FPS graphics quality and a good character and story among the series. The multiplayer mode can not be beaten by any game. But Crysis 3 is worth playing for sure as the developers added some great features and increased the graphics and other features of the game.

The Verdict:

After playing the Crysis 3 I will say it provides one of the most flute and flexible experience in the first person shooter genre. As it is a Crysis game, you must wonder about the graphics of the game, and I will say the pc version provides a very good resolution, but it does not mean your console will disappoint you. The game clashes with nature and artificial buildings which make the game more realistic. The sounds in the game from the reloading of the gun to the shooting of the enemies to too good. It is enjoyable to hear the enemies freaking out when their squad is being wiped out. The Nanosuit allows you to switch things on the fly like going to cloak mode etc. depending on the situation. The new weapon which is Bow seems to be great as it can blow fire to the enemies and an arrow too. The main reason Crysis 3 enjoyable to play is its control system which is just flawless. The Nanosuit can be adjusted depending on the situation which gives the player more potential to complete an objective.

At last, I will surely recommend playing this game, and I am sure you will not be disappointed. Thank you for checking out my review.
