Mango Pickle || Homemade....

in BDCommunity6 years ago

There is a tradition in my home, which has been going on for some years, where seasonal fruits are specially being treated by my mother and she likes to make different types of dishes/cooking/pickle from them. Although, I do enjoy some of the items that she makes and those I do not, I tend to stay away from them 100 hands away jk. Well, even after all this, she is the best cook that I have ever seen. Not because sole purpose of being my mom but some of her cooking is the best. Am I becoming a mammas boy : ) probably, yes. Quarantine effect, ladies and gentlemen.

Few days ago, I was talking with few of my friends in Discord about a topic of Mango and at some point it came out how we like some foods made from these fruits and I was referring to an incident where my mother wanted to make some pickle of mango and here I am creating a blog about it.

Well, honestly I wanted to see the full process of making it but I missed it as I was offering my prayer and my mother she had already done everything regarding making this pickle.

Ingredients that she used in making them:

  • Mango
  • Garlic
  • Ginger
  • Green Chili
  • Fenugreek
  • Black cumin seeds
  • Garam Masala
  • Salt
  • Tasting Salt
  • Olive oil

and Vinegar.

While I am not able to write the full process but even though she described some of the process, which eventually went above my head (some of the steps) but if I summarize it she cooked all the items in a pan, one by one except vinegar and mango. Once the mixture was complete she mixed it with the mangoes, which were cut down into pieces from before.

Those are the items she used to make this pickle. Well it is not ready yet for eating. I suppose it will take few more days to be able to eat them. Let's see how many days does it needs to get the mixture into those mangoes and they get ready for eating.

While even though I like some of the pickle that is out there mango is not that much of favorite of mine. I would rather like pickle of OLIVE or Garlic. I used to have them a lot in the past. So that sums up today's blog of making Mango Pickle. Honestly saying I would not have even noticed this small cooking, if not I was at home due to Corona. One good thing that this corona did to us, is making close to our family once again, But still go away corona, we do not need you any cost!!
