MY INTRODUCTORY POST by reetachee

I love God irrespective of what everyone around me is saying.

My name is Rita Princewill, born into a family of 6 plus my parents. I am the first born so that leaves the responsibility of setting good examples for me.

It has not been an easy feat serving God especially in this generation where everyone wants it the easy way plus nobody believes that there are still good girls out there.

Growing up was hard for me because in my country, fair ladies are generally seen as flirtatious or prostitutes, girls go as far as bleaching their skin to make them look attractive but mine was God given and there was nothing i could do about it.

My church pastor while growing up would say mean things to me that made me almost hate Church and Pastors. He would use me as bad examples to others not to be like me. I wasn't wayward, in contrast, i just love God. I love to pray and i had plenty prayer partners who even came to my house to pray along with me.

I was born into a Christian family so I knew God early but my skin colour always stood in the way of people accepting the fact that I am not a wayward girl and in fact hated it when ladies are wayward.

My parents were also strict about my movements because they also thought my skin color would attract the wrong people to me and I will go wild. I didn't have so much female friends because parents kept their children from mingling with me just so I don't have a negative influence on them.

I got tired at a point, wanted to give up but God held on to me. I tried taking my own life because of the frustrations but God had other plans for me. This is really emotional for me as I write this but i am happy sharing my story.

God showed me how much He loves me by sending me to a school fellowship when I got admitted to The Polytechnic, Ibadan. I made new friends, people who saw me for me and weren't judgemental, although I still met few who were but the majority saw the God in me.

I served God like i never did, i knew God better, i heard God clearly and that was when i noticed that the passion i nursed for seeing women become better, i wanted women to understand that they can achieve more even without selling their bodies, i wanted women to know how strong they are and how God sees them.

A women fellowship was born out of that passion and it ended in school. I graduated in 2019 and early this year God instructed me to start again but this time I should use the WhatsApp space, so i started with a group of friends in January and now we are over 100 on the group.

We talk about God, Women's Health, Finances and God has been helping us change mindset, God has been healing the sick amongst us and that's just the beginning of what God is yet to do.

Today, I can boldly say
I AM NOT WHAT THE WORLD WANTS ME TO BE, I AM WHAT GOD CREATED ME TO BE.
I AM A CHAYIL WOMAN.
