My blackout story

Hi, My name is Ella and there is one thing that happened in my life that I would never forget and I am going to share what happened that day. It all started on August,14/2003 a Thursday I was only 8 years old when the blackout first happened in Ontario, I started off my day by going to an amusement park and getting gas on the way there so we started driving to the park and it usually takes about 30 minutes to reach the park so when we were 15 minutes in we went to the nearest gas station there was no line and we were the only people there so it took about 5 minutes to fill up the gas then we started driving to the amusement park again when we got there we started to play around went on the all the rides I wanted to it was about 4:05 but I wanted to ride this one rollercoaster so we went on one last ride it took some time but we finally got on the ride after waiting in line for 4 minutes so it was now 4:09 we went on the ride and that’s where it all started at exactly 4:11 the ride stopped on the loop part we were upside down! the rollercoaster just stopped while we were upside down!!! I was so scared I could barely breathe I was freaking out the workers rushed down and tried to get us down but the remote didn’t do anything they told us to calm down and that they would get us down soon so they asked someone if there ride was working and everyone said no so they called the police and the police said we are having a blackout and I was so shocked but I was scared at the same time! after a few minutes they figured out that they can create heat to make the wheels move on the roller coaster after trying with enough heat they finally got us down when I got down I felt like I was about to throw up and I actually did throw up I felt so sick after being upside down for an hour but it was good that it was morning so during the blackout it wasn’t really dark cause the sun was shining I don’t know how everyone is going to deal with this at night! After getting of the roller coaster and feeling sick, I went into the car and we started driving but we looked at the gas tank and I couldn’t believe it was empty I took a deep breath and drove to the nearest gas station but when I got there I couldn’t even believe what I saw the line was so big it was like 20 buildings on top of each other I was like oh my god! I was so frustrated so I just went to the next gas station it was even longer but I didn’t want to wait in line all day so I just wait to the nearest place where there a lot a people there to everyone in the city and no one was able to hurt us during the blackout the other people there had a little setup where they had battery operated lights and it was safe there so I stayed there for the night but the blackout didn’t end there the blackout kept on going that day we woke up the battery operated lights were on all night we turned the off in the morning cause there was enough light to see some people gave us some food to eat during the time we were there the police came to check on everyone in the neighborhood everyone was ok thankfully and no one got hurt but there were a few break ins during night time but there wasn’t that many cause the police was watching over most of the city so not many break ins it was the end of the day so we went to bed when we woke up the next day and we saw that in the safe house we were in the lights were back on we were so happy first thing I did was go fill up my gas for the car as soon as it was full I went to my house sat on the couch with popcorn and watched tv and fell asleep. This is my experience of the blackout that lasted 2 days!
