Colorful Salt Lakes

Last summer we went on a roadtrip from Nuremberg, Germany to Barcelona, Spain. While driving through different countries, landscapes and cities, we went to the Camargue, which is a natural park/region located in France, between the Mediterranean Sea and the two arms of the Rhône delta. The Camargue National park is home to more than 400 species of birds. It's salty ponds provide also habitats for the greater flamingo. Wild horses roam the extensive marshlands, along with wild cattle. Nature looks untouched at some spots, which makes it even more interesting.
We stayed in Camargue for about three days and I wish we would have had more time, but on roadtrips, usually there is no time for staying longer in one place. I would recommend renting a car, so you can drive around and renting a bike for the daily tours inside the National park, since driving a car is only allowed to a certain point. If you happen to be there longer than a week, you should definitely rent a Kayak and explore the sights from the water.
Now some insights on flying the drone. At the time of the flight, it was unfortunately a bit too windy and cloudy, which is why I did not dare to fly the full 150 metres with my drone. But it was high enough for some good photos, salt lakes from the ground, already look pretty cool, but from above it looks even more amazing. The contrast gets richer and the colors are just so colorful from a different perspective. In France it is allowed to fly up to 150 metres, it must be kept in line-of-sight of the operator at all times.
If you ever get the chance to visit France, the Camargue National Park is worth a visit. There are things to do for everyone, depending on what you prefer you can have a quiet relaxing vacation or you go out for some adventure. Next to visiting the lakes you can go from exploring the nature, animals and landscapes to relaxing at the beach or some city trips.
