Thank You Steemit Community

My Nest Egg

A Zebra Finch Egg

When I came to Steemit I knew nothing about blockchain and cryptocurrency. My husband has been the investor in the family and he told me about Steemit back in June of 2016. I finally registered in September of 2016 and my experience has been one heck of a ride so far!

I found cryptocurrency a great way to save and invest in my families future!

How many Zebra Finch eggs would it take to make an omelet? That's how I feel about working here on Steemit. It's been like laying one little egg at a time.

I came to Steemit with zero investments. All I had when I came to Steemit was my art and a stubborn nature. My writing and blogging skills are C+ at their best. I think I have improved since I joined in September 2016. I have had some of the most amazing mentors and people who have helped me through their behavior and actions on Steemit. You may not know how much you have taught me. I learn through watching and doing and I may not directly interact with you that much. I am not very social but I do care a lot about people and this platform.

I am not going to name names because I may forget someone and I don't want to hurt any feelings. Every interaction with a Steemian and their post I've read on Steemit has taught me something. I offer you all my gratitude.

Thank you @dan and @ned, all the coders and marketers that have worked to better steemit, I love your philosophy regarding self governance and your coding. I've invested what I've earned on Steemit, my best investments so far regarding earnings have been EOS and Bitshares. With my other investments, over half my worth is invested in Steemit Inc and I am now worth, if I sell all my coins right now, over $100,000.00. I am not selling right now, I am here for the long run. If I do sell SBD or STEEM, it will be used to reinvest in Steemit some time in the future.

I also want to thank the community builders. You have a special talent I admire since I lack those skills. In the future after my little power down is done. I want a little free steem to use for investments. I will be delegating my little Steemit nest egg to projects that help Steemit grow into a healthy long lasting community

I came to Steemit hoping to pay for some art supplies and a new computer. I've done that...hahaha! Now I am sitting back and thinking to myself, "I could buy my little homestead right now." But I won't, I am still sitting on my little nest eggs. I am one of those Steemians that isn't aligned with any group or whale. I worked my way to this point through posting and commenting a little bit every day.

My hope writing this post is that I will inspire other people who are struggling that you need to lay that little egg every day and sit on it! Steemit is still in Beta and has a great potential to grow beyond our wildest dreams. For many it may seem like you can't grow your account making a little SP and SBD a day, don't worry about that, 1/2 of SBD is worth $5.00 USD, Holy-Moly! Keep learning and improving yourself and save your SP and SBD. Your little eggs will hatch if you are wise with your investments and content creating.

Take care of yourself, don't overdo Steemit or you will burn out. Do things outside, eat healthy Whole Foods, drink clean water, get out in nature, learn new things to blog about!

I am wearing a polar bear onesie my Daughter gave me for Christmas. It is cold here in Oklahoma! My birthday is a couple days away. Wish me a happy birthday, I am so glad I am alive right now. Life has been difficult but the difficulties never last. Keep on learning new things about yourself and this world. Never give up on yourself, you are your own work of art!

what an inspiring story!
2 years on the platform is great experience!
what advice can you give to newbies?) Be stubborn like you?)
in the beginning it's very difficult to find your place here, if you dont have friends and support on Steemit, how did you overcome this?

I’ve been here 1.5 years and have made over 100, 000.00 if I sold all my coins today. Do your best, learn new things, talk with all sorts of people, join contests and groups if your social. I don’t have that much time between creating content and interacting with the people who visit my blog. Stubbornness and patience are what make a Ph.D one of my college professors told me, it’s not how bright you are it’s about enjoying the process and never giving up. Take care of your health, if you burnout or make yourself sick this makes it difficult to be organized and be consistent and enjoy the work.

I have friends here but they are not tied to groups or large accounts. Most of my good friends started out just like me🦋

thank you! will try)
i am not a very social person, but like to talk to interesting people here to get some new knowledge) hope Steemit will be kind to me)

Wow this is so emotional almost got me there, your journey had been a huge success so far, I'm glad you really got to buy that laptop you so much desire, and well I'm really happy for you, I hope to achieve this milestone someday

The laptop was an investment in steemit, it is difficult to blog on steemit with an iPad I did that for a couple months...lolololol

thank you @josediccus!

Wow, well I did buy a laptop too it made my steeming easier.

You are certainly doing very well I hope to achieve as you too in steemit.

Such a beautiful post of gratitude. I share that gratitude for Steem and the community. It is wonderful to see everyday hardworking people enjoy the bounty of Steemit and investing. It is truly a great time to be alive!

Yes I am one of those flyover country people, so deplorable, I'm as average as one can get. I am so pleasantly surprised and I've met cool people too, which maybe prove to be a better investment than the rewards I've earned ;-)

Hello @reddust

This is really a great post full of positive thought and you're an example for every new steemians here, @reddust ! As you, I came to Steemit with zero investments, just my curiosity about it and the will to share my art and a bit of myself inside the community. I'm very very grateful to start my "adventure" here and I have to say many thanks to many nice steemians here ^_^

@silviabeneforti, I feel like we worked side by side in a garden, I am serious! Lots of good seeds planted by you and your husband.

Your words are really important for me, because I also feel like we worked side by side in the same garden and I'm pretty sure that our garden will be every day a beautiful garden to grow!

Yes I feel like we are gardening Steemit. You and your husband could be called master Steemit gardeners now!

Highly rEsteemed!
This is such a great share.
Many of my genes come from that land of yours, Oklahoma.
Kindest regards!

The Oklahoma people may not talk a lot but they are some of the kindest and most giving people I have met while traveling and living in the United States. Now I like you even more @frankbacon. Two of my daughters have married into an old Oklahoma families and now I have 5 grandkids born in Oklahoma. I couldn't of imagined landing in Oklahoma when I was raising my kids in the backwoods of Oregon.
