Advice When Painting With Water Based Paints
Find your coffe, tea, water glass/cup and move it away from your painting area. I don't know how MANY times I've dipped my brush in my coffee cup! I'm a very slow student, I'm not sharing how long it took me to get in the habit of separating the water painting container and my drinking container.
I do that all the time. I don't think dipping my watercolour or ink brush into my tea and drinking it has really affected me. Dipping my oil painting brush probably has though! I sat happily drinking a beer and painting with my watercolours the other day, then I looked down and realised my beer was blue!
Just avoid the cadmium colors, heavy metals involved....I needed a good laugh ....hahaha...thank you for a most humorous one.

I haven't had that experience yet but there has been a few close calls.
I've had purple a mustache and tongue, thank goodness only the dog and cat know about these particular adventures!
"A Reddust Public Service Announcement". Maybe you need one of those cups with a travel lid on it, or one with a straw sticking out. That's what my mom uses when she paints. Otherwise, watch out! :O
Oh yeah! I have some, good idea, I wish we lived closer, you have some very practical skills. When I start painting all my common sense skill sets go out the window, including my verbal skills. I go into another mindset that has nothing to do with communication or common sense...
haha. I think we probably used to live close, because you were in Eugene, right? I'm in the River Road area there.
We lived up by the city of Marcola. I know where River Road is! Eugene is not my home town. My husband is from the Netherlands. After we retired we moved from Chicago to Eugene so he could experience the uniqueness of the Pacific Northwest. After we are finished helping my daughter through her divorce and custody battle. We may move back to Oregon, he loves my home state....but we also may move to someplace in Europe or Asia...we will figure it out in another year. Things will be stable by then...
The Pacific Northwest is beautiful, but I'm sure your daughter is glad to have you nearby.
