The "Steemit" Ecosystem - Which Fish Are You?
The "Steemit" ecosystem is now usually known to be split into 3 distinct groups.
"The whales, dolphins and minnows."
But as time moves swiftly along and our ecosystem is ever growing in its size and numbers, other types of fish are emerging through the "Steemit" waters and now it has become literally a flourishing ocean teeming with wildlife. They fulfil new and varied roles in our watery universe.
So I thought it's time that an "aquatic audit" is required to find out a little more about these interesting creatures that have joined us in the depths down below.

1. The Whale (The Conqueror)
King of the ocean and ruler of all that dwells beneath, these magnificent beasts roam the seas and are the highest in the ranks of the food chain. Their presence commands immediate attention to whomever crosses their paths, be it a small little minnow going about its business, to a razor-tooth shark searching for prey. There is not any competition to the all-conquering beast that is the whale. So either all the other fish have to form alliances with each other to work with the Whale or anger it and accept a pitiful aqueous end to be washed away into the pit of the ocean floor. It's survival of the fittest in this landscape.

2. The Remora fish (The Parasitic Fish)
These tiny little fish have devised an ingenious way to thrive and survive in this ever evolving ecosystem - by feeding off of the mother lode itself, the mighty Whale! They will follow the Whale wherever it goes and feed of the crumbs it leaves in its wake. The Whale will, due to its sheer size and enormity, not realise they even exist and continue to scour the ocean, providing an adequate food source for our miniature friends. They may spend their entire lives undertaking this unique role and blissfully co-exist in this highly unusual relationship.

3. The Dolphin (The Rescuer)
Ah, the friendly Dolphin! If ever you were a small fish in a spot of bother, you can trust these guys to come to your rescue. They grace the oceans with their keen eye and intellect, sometimes playfully jumping out of the water and through the air for a split second, so to catch a glimpse of one of them is a rare, but very pleasing visual treat. The Dolphin and the Whale have learnt over time to lead a peaceful existence together. They will keep to themselves and let the roles they play in the ocean not be a hindrance to either mammal. They must have come to the conclusion that there is plenty of room for them both in this vast spacious environment.

4. The Minnows (The Shoal)
If ever there was a saying that goes "There is strength in numbers", it could not be truer than for these defenseless tiny fish. As time went by, they realised that moving in great hordes will protect them somewhat from the bigger types that share the space with them. Fast and agile, they'll flit from place to place, leaving their mark wherever possible and with as much power as they can muster. Their lifelong hope and dream is to one day be the leader of the pack they move with, pushing the swarm to more suitable underwater climatic conditions than the ones they dwell in for now where food is available is greater quantities.

5. The Clam (The Nester)
This ”Steemit“ sea creature leads a quiet life. Due to its anti-social nature, the clam doesn't really get too bothered about all the hustle and bustle of the rest of the ecosystem. It just likes to take care of its "nest egg", the precious pearl within that keeps getting more and more valuable as time goes on. The Whales and Dolphins often glide by, oblivious to the small shelled Mollusca that sit there on the ocean floor. As long as the clam holds on to its beautiful asset, it will live on in content, blissful harmony with everything around it.

6. The Menhaden (The Curator)
A little known variety of fish in these parts, this little fellow will dart around making sure the "Steemit" ecosysme is in as balanced a state as possible, given all the activity that occurs down here on a daily basis. In effect, they "curate" the environment. They don't get involved in the "politics of the sea", just simply bridge the gap between the higher and lower levels of the food chain, the “middleman” of the fish community. It is one of the happier breeds out there and is an extremely undervalued resource for the ecosystem.

7. The Jellyfish (The Downvoted)
The jellyfish is, sadly, one of the most disliked of all the sea life in the "Steemit" underworld. It'll float around, thinking it's a threat to everything, but really speaking bearing nothing more than a small sting. One if it's most ominous features is that it's nearly "invisible" so remains hidden for most of its life. Its poisonous tentacles can cause a sting to other creatures that dare to swim near it, but given how small they usually are, it's unfortunately the minnows who are most at risk from them. However their small numbers mean coming across one is something of a rarity nowadays which is good news for all out oceanic friends . For now, anyway.

Well, who said life in the big, wide ocean was easy?
It will only keep expanding larger and larger until it attracts even more different types of fish into its habitat. No one said life in the "Steemit" underworld was gonna be easy, lol. We'll just have take another look in the near future and find out the changes for ourselves...

That was awesome!! I think I'm still a minnow, one with ambitions to lead the masses.
Lol, thank you for your comment!! It's a new and crazy world we've all been thrown into so hopefully we'll all make our way up the food chain!!
still minnow here but great post and than you for using both languages
No problem, good to support both communities.
You got it Rea. Thank you for your great article blog and for reaching out :)
Thanks
